The Nasty World of Politics
I think the title says it all, Politics is a nasty, dirty, blood-sport. And, if you wanna play with the big dogs of politics you better be prepared to expect all that comes with it. Now, I'm not talking about stupid little blogs that surface that are run by anonymous "keyboard tough guys". Those people have no credibility and are written off as nuts. I'm talking about being involved in politics where people you work with and learn to trust and even develop a friendship with are nothing more then backstabber's, that will sell you down the river to advance their own political agenda or the agenda of their "chosen" candidate. It's hard to do this, to come to a realization that you have been ignoring, but known for quite some time, they're not your friends...they're using you and will spit you out as soon as they figure out that your ideas may differ from what their ideas are. Even if what you think is what the majority of people have decided.
Well, what I described is not something I want to be part of any longer. In order to get away from the dirty world of politics you have two choices. 1.) Cut all ties or 2.) Work with someone who you know is genuine and will do what is in the best interest of the people... as much as this sounds crazy there are a few of those people left. I have chosen option 1, and, 2, I'm cutting all my ties with the people I described in paragraph one, and working on a commitment on the person that has the people's interests at heart.
In order to do this, I'm shutting this blog down. This is officially the last post and will go offline on Sunday. I would turn it off now, but I feel that I deserve the people that come on here an explaination. Thank you to all that come here and support me... I appriciate it.

Mr. Blaber, please keep doing what you are doing. I find your blog to be informative, insightful and necessary in an area that is devoid of daily mass media focussed on local issues (no offense Ulster Publishing but the key word is daily). Sure, you are a little partisan but at least you are honest about it, unlike the Freeman.
Your blog is important and I implore you to continue no matter how dejected you may become with the political scene. Instead of giving up, use this forum to clean it up. Whatever you decide, good luck and thank you.
Bye. Can I have my knife back?
Jeremy, keep your blog online. I find it to be a great source of information on Kingston politics and the city beat. I find it more informative than the Daily Freeman! Please keep up the good work and don't let anyone bring you down. You have a right to speak your mind. Remember what our great American statesman, Patrick Henry said: "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
Clint Brown=Love
You're right about the backstabber's. Imagine what they do on projects involving millions of dollars. You can stand and fight for what you believe is right or not, your choice. Just remember one thing, if you close your blog, the terrorist win!
BYE BYE
Keep it running its great and i'm a republican. Although it is partisan it is real. Good luck in whatever you do
Don't be a moron! If you go what is left to read about online? The Freeman? The New Paltz Times? I think you have an obligation to your base to stick this one out.
Mr. Blaber,
As someone who is elderly I enjoy your websight. It keeps me informed on the sillyness of Cosme
[were you the one that broke the
story of Cosme's loss on the library board?] and the wacked out
Comments made by Lenny Walker. So
I urge you to keep this page open and alive.
Thank You
I met you for the first time uptown today and even though i only spoke to you briefly i could tell you were very genuine. Sometimes life sucks and people do back stab you,but you must not throw your hands up in the air and quit. Learn a lesson from it. i am a little older than you and have had people back stab me also, but i try not to make the same mistake twice. You do a great service by having this website, please don't punish us the people who enjoy this web site. i am sure the people who are against this site would love for you to close it down. just think about it. thank you Jeremy and good luck in what ever you do. Maybe the next time you're up town on Saturday we can talk a little more. I was on the clock thats why i couldn't stop.
This is formerly RPM ---
But now who is going to make libelous comments about Republicans in Kingston? Who is going to show a basic misunderstanding of statistics and try to pass off internet polls as legitimate?
Who are you referring to? Who stabbed you in the back?
For those of you sending messages and e-mails asking for me to keep the blog up I appreciate it. I'm stil going to shut the blog down, but, maybe just for the next 4 0r 5 months during the upcoming elections. We'll see.
Those asking who specifically stabbed me in the back...it's not just me specifically. The blog's re-opining may be a tell all....but for those who keep salivating on whether me and Sottile are now bitter enemies the answer is NO. I have a great love and respect for the guy and we remain great friends. However, there are certian people who I thought were my friends e.x. NW,CT,AD,JR,JR,AZ, that I'll never talk to again.
Yeah keep it open, we want your take on Little Dick and Lenny STalker's inevitable TROUNCING on election day
Jeremy,
Politics do not have to be a 'dirty' business. The political helm is steered by human emotion. When people are passionate about a cause they tend to be vocal, persuasive and albeit at times even narrow minded. The very nature of politics draws people who are intensely committed to those causes they champion. Unfortunately sometimes we all forget that our opponents are themselves as human as we are, as profoundly committed to furthering ‘Plan A’ as we are to furthering ‘Plan B’. To believe that one day we all will learn to play well together in the sandbox is naive, but to pick up your toys and leave the sandbox is defeatist. Jeremy you are too young to gather your toys and go away sulking. Keep the blog open, use your right of free speech but check your facts...then check them again...then have someone check them for you before you check them yet again prior to posting. Learn to right click that mouse button for a spell check or get someone to edit your posts for grammar and spelling. An internet blog can be a powerful tool or a heavy albatross. I hate to sound cliché' (even more so than usual) but use your power for 'good', use this influential tool as a beacon of information and way to exhibit your opinion and to encourage interaction in the community both online and on the street. Consider that not everyone has to agree with you and when you learn to respect the opinions of others your own credibility becomes viewed with a higher perception of value.
Don’t let a knee jerk reaction become a regrettable decision. Take your knocks for mistakes made, learn from them and go on from there. We all make mistakes, welcome to planet Earth. You have a wonderful resource available to you. Make the best of it don’t let it get the better of you.
Don't bail when the going gets tough. That is when to stick it out. Never let them see you sweat.
Obviously, telling the truth hurts the people who are not playing by the rules or are more power-hungry than smart. You have wisdom well beyond your age.
Don't you dare close this blog.
Youngblood stay with it, we need decent, strong, young, smart Democratic people who have their feet on the ground.
Don't let those corrupted, power hungry, pseudo Democrat, idiots, (like that wannabe al spada and his crew of thugs out in Ulster) get you down.
You are better than that. Integrity stays with you for you whole life.
Dear Jeremy:
Many times I've told you that those whom you put up on a pedestal were in reality sneering down at you. Individuals you lambasted in cruel ways were more of a friend to you because they told you the truth.Having the D after your name does not automatically confer sainthood just as having the R does not make you pondscum. Keep up the blog, listen and reflect before you react. People you have hurt in the past are decent human beings... give them a chance
