Walker A No Show for Kingston's Hooley on the Hudson

A major Kingston event, Kingston's Hooley on the Hudson was a major success with 10 thousand plus people attending this great family event. One notable absence was Alderman-at-Large candidate Lenny "watchdog" Walker, I wonder what was more important than attending a very important event in Kingston. Is this the beginning of what's to come? The last thing we need is an alderman-at-large that is no where to be found.

On the other hand some notables at todays event were:
Congressman Maurice Hinchey, Assemblyman Kevin Cahill, Kingston Mayor James Sottile, Alderman-at-Large James Noble, Ward 3 Aldermadic candidates Pat Carroll and Charles Landi, Alderman Madsen, Alderman Senor, Kingston Judicial candidates James Gilpatric and J. Michael Bruhn Jr., School Board Trustee Matthew McCoy, U.C. Minority Leader Glenn Noonan and D.A. candidate Jonathan Sennett as well as the other two.....

I previously stated that Rich Cahill was not at Sunday's Event, he says he was and I beleive him..I appoligize for the mistake, although I'm close, I'm not perfect and on occasion I make mistakes. Also there were other candidates and notables at Sunday's event that I neglected to mention : Mrs.Gill, Mrs.DiFalco, Todd Langdon, Mrs.Petit, Roscoe Pecora, U.C. Legislator Peter Kraft and of course Ken Brett.

He already is missing important events..uurrrrgghh...what a hypocrite! Sottile for mayor.

Important events would be to CUT TAXES which would spur ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT and REAL JOBS.

Don't you get it?

Cahill understands this. Who cares about some stupid party?

Grow up!

I completely disagree with you Jeremy. I was disgusted by what a political event the Hooley was. It was more about the politicians than about the Irish. I say ban politicians from selling themselves at these events!

I guess Cahill and Walker don't really give a damn about Kingston. I'm very disappointed Alderman Cahill!

Is the person in the pink on the milk carton Lenny's girlfriend? Maybe that's where Lenny was..getin' sum. We all know that's not where Cahill was, from what I hear he can't even satisfy what he's got.

Attendance at the Hooley on the Hudson shouldn't have been a requirement for candidates. It's a drinking fest; maybe the candidates who weren't there felt that to be at an event that promoted drinking was inappropriate. Not showing up doesn't mean they don't give a damn. Maybe it means they can distinguish between what's important and what's not.

Jeremy, Your continued, infantile refusal to include the names of all the DA candidates is totally immature.

Someday you will outgrow your diapers and this blog will garner some credibility. Until then you are just a boy playing with his toys.

I didn't know that there was a politico check-in booth at the Hooley? Next time you ought to make sure that all politico's know to show up at the check-in booth so that they can prove that they were there.

Meanwhile....At the Latino fest earlier in the summer, where was Sottile, Noble, Hinchey and your boy Sennett?? ALL no-shows. But Vince Bradley, Rich Cahill and Lenny Walker showed up.

9:27, I'll help you.

Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley
Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley Bradley

He;s still in the race, and will win because once people realize what a great DA he'll make, they won't be able to vote for anyone else.

To 9:27 - Jeremy shouldn't be listing the names of Sennett's opponents. Candidates understand the strategy of never referring to their opponents by their names. Jeremy is doing just that - if he were to mention them, that would be validating their candidacy. Everyone knows that the Conservative candidate has no integrity and no prayer of winning (well, those with at least half a brain know). The Conservative candidate should drop out of the race - he should know that no one outside of Kingston likes him, and he'll never go anywhere (politically) as a Democrat in Ulster County.

Clint Brown was there. He sucked down 5 pints of Hurricane Kitty in 4.6 seconds.

LITTLE DICK AND STALKER ARE ALWAYS MIA AT WEEKEND EVENTS

I'm really surprised that Charlie Landi was even there since He had such a poor showing at the recent neighborhood watch meeting. He tried to use it as a political function and numerous attendees tore up his propaganda and then verbally tore into him. Seems the horrible leadership the EX alderman for the 3rd district hasn't been forgotten even though it has been many years since he was in office.

Anonymous said...

Jeremy...you are incorrect. I witnessed Lenny Walker leaving the event at 1:30 with his wife and his son.

Mr. Bradley was positioned outside the Guinness beer tent. D.A. for drinking, or what?

Yes, I did see Alderman Brown at the event. As someone who was born in Ireland and came here as a young child I was taken back how much Alderman Brown knew about the past problems in the North and he went into great detail about the
Spring 1972 Incident in which many
people lost there lives. Mr. Brown
is a great guy who is a true friend of the Irish People.

All,

Everyone knows Clint Brown's favorite beer is Guinness

Clint Brown is a true man of all peoples. Write-in Clint for Mayor!!!!!!

Vincent Bradley's supporters are hallucinating if they think he is going to win as the conservative party candidate. You can't run on a platform of see what a great DA he is going to be.

He has shown his true colors in every step of his campaign to date. He is a weak candidate. Get over it. By staying in the race, he is only hurting his own future.

Wow, First time on your blog site and not only am i completely sick over the nasty comments but more that you even leave them up here..?? It shows how IMATURE you really are Mr. Blaber.

I wouldn't call the Hooley on the Hudson an important political event. It just so happens to be near election time where candidates who want to put in some time to make an appearance, hand out stickers, shake hands, kiss babies, etc, end up with a few more votes than the other guys. I would find it strange that the event would affect the voting population, who rely on other sources like the Freeman and other political meetings to learn about the candidates. Maybe the votes are needed that badly. I don't follow it enough. In the end, it's your vote. If you don't want to vote for someone who won't go to the Hooley, then don't vote for him. It doesn't necessarily mean they want to get elected so they can ban city festivals or so they can not listen to the public.

Although I didn't see Walker or Cahill either, you did conveniently leave out many of the other candidates that attended. (Gill, DiFalco, Langdon, Petit, Pecora, etc)Perhaps you should mention that your list would include only the Democratic attendees....AND you left out Assemblyman Cahill and Legislator Peter Craft!

I refuse to believe that anyone who posts here is stupid enough to think that junior might actually win.

He has admitted himself that he is only in it for spite, and has said it to more than a few people. And he thinks that he can get some sort of Democratic job in the future.

Dream on dimwit...you couldn't get elected dog catcher in jimmy's ward, much less to a county-wide position.

Fade away now while you still have at least a modicum of self-respect remaining....and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out loser...

jeremy why dont you post my comments about jean jacobs daughter? the public has a right to know that her daughter got arrested for dwi! you let people post alot more viscous comments. this is a woman that talks about how great of a person she is and about how she did a great job raising her kids and that they didnt get in trouble. well the facts are alot different

to 5:20 - it would be a shame to judge people by their parents, children, spouse, etc. - it can work both ways. Just as most people don't care who Vince Bradley Jr.'s and Mike Bruhn Jr.'s fathers are, they shouldn't judge Jean Jacobs by her daughter's alleged dwi. If you're a parent of adult children who've never gotten into trouble, are educated and self-supporting, then yes, you've done a great job. But sometimes good parents have kids who do get into trouble - it happens. Jeb Bush's daughter got arrested for forging prescriptions - I'm sure he and his wife did the best they could bringing up their kids, but things don't always happen as you plan them (Al Gore's son just got arrested, too). My parents were very strict - religious school, rigid bed times, having to ask permission to go anywhere and all that crap - and I grew up in the 60s and 70s and did every drug under the sun (I have a post-graduate degree and am a professional so I turned out OK). It's amazing that I never got arrested. If you're not a parent of adult children, wait to judge others until you can prove that you've been successful at parenting. My kids are older teenagers, and so far they're better kids than I was, but I know that there's always the possibility that they can surprise and humiliate me. That's what defense attorneys are for.

and still you refuse to post my comments about seeing Cahill at this joke of a party! He was there and you know you will look foolish if you admit it, so you hide behind your pc, and hope it goes away. Much like your democratic elected officials! You will make a good croonie, keep up the good work. Let me give you some good advice....A real man admits his mistakes. A coward hides! Grow up

Algore's son was arrested for reckless speeding and cocaine possesion. Speeding? Is that GREEN? Think about the carbon footprint.

Like JB said in his other thread, LEAVE THE KIDS OUT! There is a difference between a mistake and a pattern of bad behavior. The Sottile apologists believe in 'mistakes'. Wouldn't you say so?

The publics' RIGHT? Sure, it's public information, and those who get their sick kicks reading the police blog and others misfortunes, they'll see it. But for the rest of us, we are too busy living OUR lives, and working to pay taxes, to be overly concerned about who is getting arrested.

to 9:24 i have read your post and the post before you. i have to say i agree with you both. i know i did the best i could raising my children, but your right they do get into trouble. ive been a police officer for 20 years and have had a rigid schedule for them and thank lie.god they have done well for themselves. i think you have to take the good with the bad.lets say my kids were punks and i said they were good kids that would be false. being a police officer or just a regular citizen we know that when you get caught driving under the influence its usually not the first time that you have done it. the only difference is that you got caught. ive seen her on tv talking about how great she is and how great her family is. when my last child is out of the house there on there own as far as me being responsible for them. iam under the impression that her daughter still lives at home. the law says innocent until proven guilty.well have to wait and see

to 8:58 sick kicks? I am a business owner and read it every day.Ive had a couple of times over the last year were i had one of my drivers get arrested for dwi and i would not have know if it was not for me getting my sick kicks. My brother who owns several apartment houses through out Kingston and ulster county found out some of his tenants were arrested for drugs. It clearly states on the application no drugs what so ever.He would not have know if he wasn't getting his sick kicks.Maybe you should think before you speak!

3:39, I apologize. You have stated some valid reasons to surf the police beat. But whoever is behind the post regarding jacobs, seems to have a 'hard on' over this mistake affecting the family of someone he/she disagrees with. I am sure there was even some hyperventilation by the poster, evident of the multiple attempts blocked by our fair blog master.

"We won't even discuss those midnight back-room abortions way-back in the 6os then."

Those who live in glass houses shouldn't thrown stones and it just galls me how these holier than thou Republicans preach and legislate their morality to the rest of us, when a lot of the times it is they who are the ones lacking the values they impress upon all of us with such reverence. There are too many incidents to list, but this is just one of them. So I believe its ok to illustrate the hypocrisies. After all, if one didn't get liquored up and get arrested for DWI, there would be no story.

This post was brought to you by a sinner.
