In Memoriam, Senator E. Aurthur Gray

Senator E. Aurthur Gray, a man that served the 39th district proud, died yesterday at 82. Senator Gray was a man that can be described in one word: Class. Senator Gray became a Senator in 89 after serving several terms as Mayor of his home-town in Port Jervis. Senator Gray ran strictly on issues and would never go negative, rare in a politician. I think Legislator Provanzano, who worked with Gray said it best, "They(people of 39th district) could have had this incredibly honest guy serve as senator all these years." Senator Gray served only one term losing to William Larkin, in a heavily Republican District. Senator Gray was a public servant in every sense of the word, and he will be missed.
