Tomorrow is Cahill's big day

Tomorrow is Rich Cahill's big day, and an end to the much publicised speculation of what the junior Alderman will run for. Cahill states he had to meet with his law firm before making any desicion, fair enough, but it makes you think if he is consulting his law firm for this long he is looking for something bigger then Ward 6 Alderman. Smart money says he is going to challenge the widely popular Jim Sottile. In the words of John McCain : May god have mercy on him, because Sottile will not.

Please tell me, besides party hacks like yourself, who is Sottile popular with? I actually think he may be the most unpopular Mayor of the last twenty years. Check his mailbox for proof.

I hope he does run. He would be an excellent Mayor. I question your assertion that Sottile is "widely popular" though.

Sottile will win hands down. Rumor is Scott DiMicco is considering a run for council president.

Bookworm is right. Cahill and Sottile are both dynamic personalities who refuse to take a back step. I hope Cahill wins, but know that it will be a real fight one way or the other.

Cahill will run, lose and disappear back into his high powered Law career of writing wills, health care proxies and defending desperate criminals charged with going through stop signs ,not wearing seat belts and double parking.

Those with "D" after their names highly underestimate Rich Cahill! He is a powerful force because the people are behind him. They are fed up with Sottile and his minions who put power and party solidarity ahead of the City's interests. Expect a fight, and a dirty one if his critics run true to form. I would like to see an old-fashioned debate between Cahill and Sottile. Cahill will anihilate Sottile, leaving him writhing in political agony.

it will be good for laughs, that's about it - Cahill is the biggest horse's rump this town has seen in years. ask any normal person if they watch his dopey show (you know, the one where he goes on the air taking credit for everything with a homeless man who he calls 'dad') they will tell you they watch it for laughs.

Well, Zippy, you certainly were right. The negative attacks have begun already. The previous poster also attacked Cahill's father. This seems to be the only type of campaign democrats can run -- filthy.

To the one poster. It appears you
do not watch the 'Kingston Chronicles' on Monday Night. In regards to Mr. Richard Cahill Sr
he can be rather rude, brash, incorrect, nasty, and sometimes crude. It is amazing how such negative and yes hateful remarks can come out of one elderly person.
Why is he so nasty? For me I just think he is a bitter little man.
