I have spent the afternoon feeling the way that I have made a lot of people feel in the past, attacked with little recourse . I did not send any e-mail out attacking anyone, I have an appointment with a Computer specialist on Monday and will prove to Mr.Sennett and Mr. Parete, that I had no involvement.
The most important thing that a person has is their word and their integrity. The fact that I was even accused of such a thing proves both my word and integrity have been damaged. This has happened over a period of time as a result of my own actions and the way I have conducted myself. For awhile I had forgotten why at age 16 I got involved : to do the right thing and make a difference. For that I truly am sorry.
I also would like to apologize to everyone that has been unfairly attacked on this blog. From now on this blog will be moving in a much different direction and we will get back to the original mission: informing the public on local politics and community events in a manner that is fair and balanced. Comment moderation will also change, comments that damage a persons character or are over the top negative will NOT be accepted.
Politics is a blood sport and at times is very nasty but it does not have to be. It's time we step up and set an example, reject politics as usual and all that goes with it. Thank you all for your continued support.
Great. A humble Blaber, the last thing we need.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you can admit to that. I am impressed, I mean that. I'm sorry for the things I have written about you here and on other blogs.
ReplyDeleteJeremy that's so big of you. No pun intended. I hope you really mean what you say. Time will tell.
ReplyDeleteBTW.... Sennett wins your poll and the headline is Blaber Poll Finds Mandate for Sennett. Bernardo wins by 100 votes and you say nothing? Come on.... be fair and balanced, acknowledge what the voters on your pole have said.
Reality check.
ReplyDeleteJeremy Blaber has only ever posted nasty or negative things about people he did not support. He SELDOM posted nasty things about his selected few, Sottile, Woerner and the Granddaddy of them all, Sennett.
So this new and improved Blaber will treat us to his brand of censorship that has been reserved for the people he supports to everyone now. You're a big man Jeremy.
Jeremy,
ReplyDeleteI respect and appreciate this message which reveals to me that you have self-awareness, which is mature and insightful rather than childish and self-indulgent. It makes me proud to have provided you a financial contribution to maintain this blog.
On this blog, where clear objective or historic fact merges with personal experience or opinion, sometimes you are merely the messenger and othertimes you are the subject. I think it would be much easier for you if you established and stated a clear editorial policy, and required all submissions to conform to it.
I also think it is OK for there to be a blog for the "anything goes" posts by "I, Anonymous" for which you are not held responsible.
I would not miss the unscientific beauty contest polls which simply raise more suspicion and distrust. Unless you find some way to register the participants and disclose the demographics and also publish this information with the result, I suggest you discontinue the polls altogether. Maybe this blog could be reorganized by office (UC Executive, UC Comptroller, City of Kingston Mayor, etc) for participants (including candidates, their supporters and opponents) to post messages and discuss issues and candidates for each race on a continuing basis thru election day.
On the personal attacks matter, I know from personal experience that its hard not to take them personally. I think it would be great if more politicians and public citizens had the capacity to be open and accessible to one another by their shared humanity. By this I mean we should have a recognized community standard: not casting the first stone or any stone at all, and remember that we are all human beings with egos, insights and blind spots.
I used to act on a trust that politicians of every stripe (red, blue, green, and rainbow) could express honest policy positions, and although they find disagreement yet retain mutual respect and good will for the others who tackle the public agenda. Sadly, I discovered that "there is no honor among thieves."
I confess that I have found it hard to set aside my experiences with some pols and elected officials and get back to a presumtion of trust and good will. Unfortunately, once credibility is blown, its pretty much over.

Talk is cheap. I await actions before commenting further.
ReplyDeleteFor those of us who are on the outside, we really have no idea what this is all about. The blogs in the end must be about dialogue and moving issues forward. Your blog and the others on the Ulster political scene accomplish that. Don't worry about the nonsense of noise and keep on raising issues, hopefully with a more non-partisan tone, but we won't hold our breath on that part. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlaber why haven't you mentioned that Bernardo beat Hein in your own poll? You certainly can't claim that the poll was "not valid" or "fixed" because just one day before your headlines were BLABER POLL FINDS MANDATE FOR SENNETT. So you obviously find you own poll to be credible. Bernardo didn't have the same kind of margin that Sennett had, but Bernardo beat Hein by 100 votes.... so where's your headline for this one?

Mr. Schreibmann claims to have diffinative evidence that Blaber sent a bogus email in the former prosecutor's name.
ReplyDeleteWhere are Juliens facts and the court order he obtained to get the info from TimeWarner?
Innocent until proven guilty, right JS? You'd think a former prosecutor would know that. Relying on the word of a back office geek might not hold up in a court of law or the court of public opinion. Case not closed yet.
Now, if Blaber did send the email in question he has a lot of growing up to do. He is very talented and perhaps a bit misguided.
No one is perfect.
Not even in his name but as a Schreibman supporter's name. The guy is just delusional. I'm not a Blaber or Schreibman supporter so I don't care either way. If I were on the committee I would back Parete. The guy gave the Dems a strong majority in the leg, a Dem Sheriff, fam. Court Judge and soon the first Dem Exec
ReplyDeleteit is interesting that the schreibmanns use their emoyers email addresses for political purposes. That doent seem right.
ReplyDelete"From now on this blog will be moving in a much different direction ........ Comment moderation will also change, comments that damage a persons character or are over the top negative will NOT be accepted."
ReplyDeleteSO IT'S MOVING IN A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT DIRECTION, {NOT A MUCH DIFFERENT DIRECTION} YOU ALWAYS "MODERATED" NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT HEIN. SO THAT'S NOT GOING TO CHANGE. MAYBE EVERYONE ELSE WILL BE SLANDER FREE... THANKS FOR DOING SUCH A GREAT JOB
Again who cares about this inside baseball.
ReplyDeleteRe: The guy gave the Dems a strong majority in the leg, a Dem Sheriff, fam. Court Judge and soon the first Dem Exec"
ReplyDelete"The guy" had help. We should remember that the former Repub. Chair helped the Dems by not fronting the stronger and more credible administrator for Sheriff.
STOP THE INSIDE CRAP. NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOU AND SCREIBMAN'S SQUABBLING IN THE SANDBOX. WHAT HAPPENED TO JULIAN SAYING HE WOULD NOT ALLOW DISTRACTIONS, WELL HE HAS FAILED AT THAT. BY RESPONDING TO A VERY STUPID E-MAIL HE HAS GIVEN IT CREDIBILITY. MORE REASON WHY I HAVE TROUBLE SUPPORTING HIM FOR CHAIR, SHOW SOME LEADERSHIP.
ReplyDelete12:04 Amen. I thought the response letter from Mr. Schreibmann was arrogant and condescending. Not exactly what is needed from a potential party chair or attorney for the people in Ulster County.
ReplyDeleteYou are a god man Jeremy. I'm with you buddy.
ReplyDeleteBlaber you are just as bad a Julian. Stop talking and allowing comments on this. Julian said let it go and you want to keep it up. Stop living for drama. It's so stupid, who cares.
ReplyDeleteLet's get back to taxpayer cruelty and political gangs.
