Russert was from Buffalo who was a strong Catholic, perhaps cause to admire him on one level, such as placing the usual in memorium stuff and possibly reporting on the homily of some priest somewhere. His conduct and demeanor were on a higher level than, say, fellow television Catholic journalist achiever Bill O'Reilly(I assume that Russert did not make off-color comments to female staffers and such, although that sort of thing could be seen as one attempt to counter the ridiculousness of the Catholic church), but in the end, he didn't do much else notably besides cozy up to those in power, something Blaber is doing with verve, fervor, and hopefully toward an eventual higher end than the standard useless junk of simply being satisfied that "I have arrived via the Catholic achievement ethic and since I was a layperson I INSIST you bow down to me in my perennial inferiority complex I developed as a Catholic Lay Person as a result" as many politicians and other folks high on the ability to use power have felt long after arriving at some point reminiscent of Mother Mary Hoisted-Up-Petard-Under-The-Habit(I could name names here but most of us already know the names, faces, and recognize the effects here). At least that is what some of us HOPE for the next generation and beyond--particularly for the "Boyz To Men" CONCEPT.

So what are you saying. Buffalo was a strong Catholic?
ReplyDeleteI really lost you. Are you James Joyce high on Holy Water or just some recovering Catholic with an axe to grind?
