Thanks, John

The Parete administration has come to an end. John Parete retired officially tonight, his legacy is a great one and certainly one that he should be proud of. A strong majority in the county legislature, a Democratic Sheriff, the passing of the County Charter, and the ground work that was laid out for Mike and Elliott this year.

We as Democrats should all thank John Parete for his many years of service as Chair of our party and as our election's commissioner.

The new chairman made a lot of promises, time will tell if he can deliver on them.

I did not always agree with John Parete, and when I didn't, I told him. While no person is perfect, John worked hard and accomplished SO much.

I love and respect him for all that he's done for our party.

Oh, and I'm from a rogue town!

Our new chairman will guarantee Republican resurgence.

Their values are not our values.

Let's move on folks. The committee has spoken, and it is time to put all our efforts towards electing our candidates.

An energized committee with a 5000 lead in registratio, all leads to a victory for the Democrats in November.

    Brittany...

You will see several Democratic legislators "retire". They know there will not be level of support or competence from our new leadership.

Looking at the new Executive Board we have

    Julian...last place in DA race
Karen...T/O Ulster beaten bad in last years elections
Stuart...All town candidates lost last year...badly.
    Ian Brody....Saugerties Democrats..need I say anymore...

Does anyone really think they will all of a sudden elect Democrats at the county level now? Big trouble.

I have said what Brittany said. History tends to repeat itself. The wheel is turning, the Republicans will make a come back, again...

Brittany is right on with this one. Democrats are dead ducks in next years race. Those that took over party Leadership are far out crazy Liberals using the name of progressives. They haven't got a clue how to win a major race. Republicans are dancing in the street. Last but not least they have no respect for one another least of all those that fought in the trenches over the years. City Alderman are in trouble also. I admit I'm a Republican but I know and see what is going on with the Democrats. Republican majority for 2009 and John Parete and some other Democrats who have been rediculed will help it happen.

Brittany, Please, Please grow up,your youth and ingnorance is really showing. Just sit back and watch the show begin. Julian should be putting his efforts into being a good father to his newborn baby, not undertaking something so big. He has no clue!!
