We hear Mayor Sottile was talking with some constituents at Stewart's in Kingston, saying that if he opts out of running for reelection next year (which is widely expected), he will support 9th Ward Alderman Hayes Clement to be his successor.
What a huge blow to his Alderman at Large Jim Noble who has stood firmly behind Mayor Sottile's side through everything. However it probably will do more harm for Clement than good. I doubt Hayes or Noble want or will seek the unpopular Mayor's support if they run next year.
I'd imagine anyone in politics wants to distance themselves from the mayor at this point, and if they can't....it may be the kiss of death
ReplyDeletei'd imagine anyone in politics would want to distance themselves from the mayor at this point, otherwise it's the kiss of death
ReplyDeleteThe last thing Hayes Clement needs is the support of Jim Sottile! Hayes can do with the help of others. Jim Noble would be an awful Mayor and just an extension of the administration that killed the city of Kingston! I would be happy to lend support and my vote for Clement. He is much more intelligent than Noble and alot more business savvy.
ReplyDeleteSottile also told those same people that he may yet run for reelection.
ReplyDeleteMadsen will be the next mayor. You can take that to the bank
ReplyDeleteI was at Stewarts when he said it. But he also said he was seriously thinking about running himself.
ReplyDeleteNoble would only keep his family employed. Lay off the last 2 rec leaders so his niece and nephew can keep there evironmental educator positions.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that the Mayor supporting Hayes Clement does more harm than good.
Hayes doesn't need the Mayors support anyway. He is a fresh face with no connections to the good ol boys club.
Who's hosting Cuomo's fundraiser tomorrow night in the area?
ReplyDeleteI would vote for Hayes Clement but get the Mayor out of the picture!!Please, don't taint Hayes!
ReplyDeleteStevie "the theif" Aaron! This should be some good ammo for Crazy Carl Paladino!
ReplyDeleteHayes would have to appoint Jimbo to a job so he could pad his pension a little bit more.
ReplyDeleteNoble is not caring or dumb enough to step into the fiscal crisis of Kingston.
ReplyDeleteForget Hayes, Noble, and the rest of the dwarfs.
ReplyDeleteDraft Shayne Gallo. He's the man. . .
I still think Rich Cahill will be the next Mayor.
ReplyDeleteRich Cahill is qualified - problem is he won't cut expenses - Lenny Walker would make the unpaopular decisions.
ReplyDelete2:46, I thought this was an investigating issue with the State of New york? At least that was the soundbite coming from AG office.. Oh I forgot, he is a little tied up lately.. meanwhile the status quo continues.
ReplyDeleteBut if Hayes had to do it, I think the garbage detail at DPW would be the most appropriate. Sottile seems to have all the answers for DPW.
if your going to draft anyone, draft Jeannette Provano
ReplyDeleteCahill would cut spending. I'm worried he will cut too much.
ReplyDeleteKingston's feral cats are supporting Sottile
