This just in: Lenny Walker is going to run with Cahill as his Alderman-at Large. This is just the icing on the cake for the Sottile/Noble ticket. We now have two of the most negative Alderman on the council running against a ticket with a record of results.
On another Note: Don Williams is going to be running for City Court Judge, and with all do respect to Mr.Williams I can't support him. He lied to my face last month when he told me he absolutely would not run for that position.

ReplyDeleteIn Kingston Politics, being "negative" is bucking the established Democrat power in-group. Opinions different from those of the Mayor and his minions cannot be tolerated and are immediately deemed "negative". Those having "negative" thoughts are viciously insulted and demeaned, their characters assaulted, and their reputations sullied. It is pathetic, but understandable, when this is done to a political rival; when it occurs within the Party it is despicable. Sadder still, are those politicos who take a public scourging from “their own” and crawl back for more. Recall if you will A. M. De Bella scorning Alderman Brown, labeling him a racist for wanting to do something about the crime rampant in the City. When he objected to this epithet, she said it was good he wasn’t running, he never did anything for his ward anyway. After having second thoughts, Mr. Brown agreed to run again, partnering anew with those who had maligned and mistreated him. These same people now heap praise upon Mr. Brown, commending the excellent job he has done as Alderman.
ReplyDeleteMr. Walker stayed the ground for months, trying to work with those who publicly ostracized him and slandered him at every turn. He finally left the party amid catcalls and good-riddance guffaws to join the other side of the aisle. Lenny Walker is his own person, a man with strong convictions and a love for the City. People like him because he says what is on his mind and doesn’t take orders from the top. He is a hands-on alderman who is concerned for the good of his Ward. He will make an excellent Alderman-at-Large.
Those who serve the Mayor by bending to his every whim and defending the numerous bad decisions he has made need to wake up and look around. This junior high in-group mentality hurt Brown and Walker today. Your turn might be tomorrow. Gather up the remnants of your self respect and think for yourself.
