Alderman Cahill Owes Sottile an Apology

Alderman Cahill claimed on his blog that Sottile had the flag hung incorrectly during the Holley on Sunday and refused to take it down when it was brought to his attention. I spoke with the Dep. Chief of the Fire Dept. that told me that the Kingston Fire department is responsible for putting the flag up and it was put up correctly. I then went to make the correction on Cahill's blog and he had conveniently omitted his accusation. Mr. Cahill please apologize to the Mayor.

CAHOLE WON'T APOLOGIZE FOR ANYTHING - DON'T YOU KNOW HE KNOWS EVERYTHING AND HAS THE ANSWERS TO ANYTHING - JUST ASK HIM - HE'LL MAKE IT UP IF HE HAS TO, WHICH IN HIS MIND IS THE SAME AS FACT

This is only one of the latest examples of Rich's pathetic lack of integrity.

In fact his whole blog is a cesspool of lies, distortions and censorship.

Jeremy, the one who owes an apology is Sottile. He should apologize for raising taxes so much. He should apologize for his disgraceful behavior at Mariners.

Isn't it interesting that you and your cohorts cannot successfully rebut Cahill's ideas and plans, so you resort to nonsense and personal attacks like "Cahole", "Little Dick", etc.?

    It's absolutely pathetic.

First...its the "Hooley" not "Holley" as in Carnwright.

Second...The Fire Department reports to the Office of the Mayor, ultimately. Read up on your City Charter, which is probably on your nightstand. If the Mayor requests the Fire Department to fix the flag then the Fire Department would do it. As it relates to this case, I have no doubt at the Fire Department got a request from the Mayor's office or from Kate Cook to have the flag hung.

...Oh and did you actually talk with the Deputy Chief or the Office in Charge the day the flag was hung? I would be suprised if you did. There are four Deputy Chiefs and two Capt's and six LT's who could have been actually in charge the day of the Hooley.

Lastly, as you may have seen in the Daily Freeman, there are articles and letters to "The Editor" about the way Ole Glory [the US flag] is to be hung. It is a constant struggle for correctness that the American Legion and VFW constantly wages. If you are concerned about correctness you might want to contact a Leader in either of these organizations to request a formal explanation. Thereby putting an end to this thread.

The Hibernians were responsible for the flag, not the Fire Department. Don't believe me? Ask the Chief.

Rich's blog has been very quiet the last couple of days; there hasn't been one new hate filled bitter topic nor has one post been deleted in the last 24 hours or so.

Can Rich's blog get any quieter? I wonder if his alter-ego "Chris" took some time off?

    11:39,

Or maybe Mr. Cahill is just sitting back while some others make crazy or disingenuous allegations. The more he keeps quiet about those things - refusing to be baited - the better he looks! That's whether you believe he's the better candidate or not!

If you truly believe that cahill has no chance in hell of winning this election you wouldn't find something nasty to say about him constantly. You don't seem to really know anything about him. Then again you must not really know anything about sottile to think he is the best choice for this city. Can you please stop kissing his butt long enough to see him for the bumb he is.

At the hooley cahill pointed out to sottile that the flag was hung backwards. The mayor didn't even realize it. A far as it being the responsability of the hibernians, that would be sad if the fire depot or mayor allowed that. Do you think it's wise to let just anyone walk on a bridge and hang a giant flag without proper knowledge? A person could get tangled up or fall, possibly killing themsleves. I certainly hope that the fire dept took care of this. Regardless of who hung it though, it is sad that the mayor had to have it pointed out. And, sadder yet that he didn't care.

    10:00pm,

Actually, the US flag that was displayed at this year's Hooley was displayed correctly and Rich Cahill (as he usually is) was totally wrong.

Rich Cahill is a very unhappy person who cannot ever go somplace without being hyper critical. Obviously, he was very dismayed that the Hooley was so successful and that there were many people there who supported Mayor Sottile.

This engraged Rich to such a degree that he felt he needed to argue about something. In his agitated state of mind he focused on the display of the US flag. It's just too bad he was ignorant of the proper display methods for the US flag thus making a complete fool out of himself!!

Once Rich was informed of his error he should have been a man and apologized. Alas, he simply chose the coward's way and deleted all refrences (including his own)of this matter from his blog.

Therefore, Rich has earned the endosement from Bart and Troy's other orginization; The Ulster County Association of Weasels commonly reffered to as the UCAW!!
