RUN CAHILL, RUN!!!! 66% of readers say Cahill should enter Executive Race

66% of people think Kevin Cahill should run for County Executive according to the latest Blaber's News and Commentary poll. That's really interesting because that's an extremely large margin, it's no surprise to me though, people like Cahill, he's very personable and intelligent. There's no doubt he would make a great exec but will he run? People seem to think he won't because he would have to give up his relatively safe assembly seat, others think that being executive is a step down for Cahill, those naive people do not realize how powerful the position of executive really is. Look at former Assemblyman Tom DiNappoli, who ran and was the party's nominee for County Executive in Nassau County, DiNappoli was eventually defeated in a viscous primary by Tom Souzzi, but things seemed to have worked out for DiNappoli who currently is the NYS Comptroller.

In the end Cahill's heart is in Ulster County and I have a strong hunch that in February or early March our Assemblyman from the 101st puts it all on the line for the county's top spot.

I tried to vote no and my vote did not appear to be accepted. When I checked the total number of votes, the numbers were the same.

The poll sucked. Cahill should stop eating from the public trough and start earning a living for himself.

If Cahill quit public service, he would be a very wealthy man. It isn\'t like an attorney does politics for the money. After all his time in office, I am sure he could land a nice lobbyist job for at least 2 times the salary of an Assemblyman.

Cahill's support for County Exec on this blog shows how Kingston-centered the participants are here. Popular in Kingston or not, the man is totally unqualified to hold the office.

I tried to vote no also and my vote was not accepted. Bt the way, how many people actually voted, a few hundred. And how many people voted more then once. Let's not get crazy here. This is not a true representation of the people of Ulster County. Please Don't run Cahill, Don't run.

Do you honestly think Cahill is going to run for Exec? No way in Hell. He has it made in Albany and he does not have to deal with idiots like the people who post on this blog everyday. If he were to run for exec, it would be a day full of Donaldsons, Heins, and Provenzanos. Who in their right mind would want that? Stay in Albany Kevin, you are better off.

How about this scenario? Hinchey waits to see if Hillary secures the nomination. If she does, he joins the campaign and doesn't run for congress. Kevin moves up to run for congress, Dan Ahouse for the assembly seat, and Hein and Zimet battle it out for the county executive. All bets are off if Maurice stays put.

Small business owners now know that Cahill is not on their side.
