I think it's kind of sad that her only "great moment" last night included two statements borrowed from other politicians -- one from her husband, and one from John Edwards -- immediately after she chastised Barack Obama for borrowing from one politician.
I'm a strong Obama supporter. For what ever reasons, both personal and political, Hillary comes across as heavily armored. Only twice during the campaign was that armor pierced. When she cried in New Hampshire, and when she sincerely acknowledged Obama at the last debate (not the borrowed phrases that followed). In those rare moments, she becomes a very attractive candidate. I think she was sincere in those moments, but many take on a more cynical view. Hillary has all the experience to be a great president. What she lacks is the ability to be authentic when facing the electorate. All her closest friends and associates acknowledge that she is different in private settings. Authenticity, along with their political skills, are what draw voters to Obama and McCain, or for that matter, any candidate.
Yes, she is different in private. She's got a mouth a longshoreman'd be ashamed of.
Her problem, she's been hiding from the media for so many years. She has no experience answering questions off the cuff. She is no Bill. She can't spin on the fly.
