ZIMET DROPS BID FOR EXECUTIVE

Breaking News, Exclusive: Zimet today dropped her bid for Ulster County Executive at the Democratic County Brunch.

The announcement came as a shock to everyone, including Zimet supporters who had absolutely no idea that Susan was dropping her bid for the County's top spot. Zimet said that while she has the support to run and believes she probably is the right person to lead the fight, it was not her fight. Instead she plans to tackle Property tax reform and has not ruled out a run against Bonacic in the 42nd district this November.

I think this is the right move for Susan, she is a tireless fighter and advocate for the issues that she believes in and would be a great State Senator. If she chooses to run she has my full support.

This means her political career is over. What is Schacter to do now? Where will he get his money from?

Go for Bonacic Susan he is ripe for the picking. After endorsing an Independent the republicans won't even vote for him

What a fool. Two weeks later she decides she does not have in her heart? Way to think it through Susan. This is exactly why so many people did not support her for Exec in the first place. Poor decision making.

Will Donaldson now flip flop flip back to exec?

I wonder how the people who stood with her at her announcement two weeks ago feel now?

Blaber...you wrote a very thoughtful and convincing argument for her to bow out. Can you do the same for Hillary?

Zimet says her "heart was not in it." Translation is that she knew she didn't have the support of her colleagues and that Hein was going to beat her butt.

Instead of saying, MIke is a better, more qualified candidate she refused to acknowledge the facts: she was not right for the job.

It was a smart and wise move to get out of the race.

Sue Zimet should stay out of politics. Good move to drop her bid.

Zimet was always good at getting the photo opps. How does she do it? Her last buddy Spitzer is toast, Patterson better be careful.

It's about time that dropped out. Must be her connection to that bum of an ex-gov Spitzer.

David Paterson really should keep his distance from Sue Zimet. She brings bad things to life.
