Mike Hein's First 100 Days

Coming tonight we will have an update on the first 100 days of the Hein administration.

I will say I think Mike has done a fantastic job and is working hard to bring real reform to the people of Ulster County.

Living in Brooklyn, I have not had the time to focus enough on Mike and will try and change that in the future...stay tuned for a full feature coming tonight.

    Jeremy,

WOW! What change has His Royal Hein-ous brought to Ulster County except dramatically increasing the number of six figure positions in Ulster County Government?

One of my main gripes about him is how he likes to hog the spotlight.

I am sorry but when there is swine flu I want to hear from the health department, when there is flooding I want to hear from Emergency Management, when there is a DWI or Drug crackdown I want to hear from the Sherriff. It seems like everything in the county comes from Mike Hein.

He is a manager. Let the people that know what they are talking about do the interviews.

Done well? He is hiding all the costs to the new County Exec Suite and the Minority still does not have an office.

Jeremy, you must be high if you think Hein is doing a good job.

Let's be honest about it: Mike Hein is No Barack Obama

Jeremy, are you trying to be funny? Funny like a clown? Hein doing a good job??? That is really funny. Did he call you and tell you to write that?

Hein at best was ok Administrator. He is No Executive and never will be. Let's hope in the next three years he doesn't hurt the County. The only hope we have is he goes away. I read the Freeman he needs to stop the Bullshit and start to manage the county. So far the first 100 days are a "D". Mike Dump some of the high priced hacks.

Just wondering if someone like Susan Zimet or Kevin Cahill or Mike Berardi or Dave Donaldson would have surrounded themselves with such a high priced staff?

Would they have their faces on EVERYTHING?
Would they try and take credit for everything that comes out of the entire county?
Would they have that absolutely obnoxious, narcissistic sign on the wall when you go to the Executives office?

Mike Hein needs to learn something about humility. He has no idea that he is becoming the most despised man in Ulster County because of his self promoting, bullshit laden, publicity machine.

He who speaks without modesty will find it difficult to make his words good. -- Confucius

Hein hasn't done anything I don't approve of. I'm glad he has the balls to come out and take responsibility. That's the job of an executive. He'll get the blame too if something goes down. Unlike the pug method, we put a face on our government so blame can be directed.

Hein moved Bea over to County Attorney. A smart thinking person would think we we would save a little money and let her spot go vacant for a little bit. The asshole Hein already filled it. He filled it with a nice enough guy, but can't you give the taxpayers a little break? $100,000 doesn't grow on trees. It's on the back of the taxpayers.

Bea left because she could not say everything Hein wanted her to say. If you notice it was a cut in pay wonder why? He could be good because he has surrounded himself with some good people Sudlow, beckman, Smith. That should be the total staff and it could work. By adding the hacks like March it is phoney. And soon he has to realize the campaign is over and he needs to get to work for the taxpayers and stop the self promotion. Please also take down the wall of shame that is an embarassment to all of Ulster County. Jeremy any guts put a picture of it up.

Most of these clowns writing on the blog critical of Mike Hein haven't got a clue what they are talking about. Most of these clowns are so jealous you could feel the green with envy coming through the internet. Most of these clowns don't understand all the power he has and its plenty through the charter. All those appointed to positions (except two) in his executive office are past employees who have worked for yrs for Co. Government, like Marshall Beckman who already was being paid in the six figure salary.

A County wide elected County Executive was the best thing that happned to this county. Important changes have already been made and more to come.

He is doing the job he was elected to do. If your not happy you will have an opportunity in three years to change that. He won the election, get over it. What a wonderful country we live in.

8:36 - you must be high too. You're funny. Like a clown. Hein is awful. Have you seen the BRONZE plaque outside his office? This guy is a complete narcissist who can't stop spending money. I thought we were in the middle of a hiring freeze? Hein told all the managers that they couldn't have a raise because there is no money in the budget. Yet, the Deputy Executive hasn't even left her job, and he has already replaced her - AND YOU APPROVE OF THAT? How about the $500 a piece chairs. How about that he won't share with anyone how much the 6th floor renovations cost. You are crazy.

Wow, nameplates and office chairs just cost too much for the poor right-wing trash? Six figure incomes now unheard of? I hate to break it to you, but it's 2009. If you're all so broke, why are you still here in UC? Go where the climate suits your clothes or degenerate. We need more affluent households and less backwoods hicks to achieve progress on a continuous basis. We're all going to be out of our leagues someday, why wait around until you're dirt poor? Cash in and move to greener pastures already.

You are right. I am soooooo jealous of his mighty hein-ass. He's just the bomb. I wish I could spend money like him. And he's so dreamy and has such a nice hein-ass.

Bea was brought in to continue the cover up Nancy Nelson house sale, the personal property sale, and the stolen antiques. The property was valued at approximately 1 million dollars. Hein is covering up his MightyHeiny as the County Administrator he also was aware of this problem ignored it, and assisted in the cover up. Boy if the truth ever comes out the house of cards falls, bye, bye Mike and friends. Maybe Bea will replace the Republican Lawyer that is being paid with our tax dollars to defend the county. Nancy won her house back in NY State Supreme court. Bea, give her her house and personal belongings back. Hey Mike how much is in the budget and spent on this case, maybe you should tell us when you lets us know how much you spent on your office. Go ahead Bea try to cut Nancy a deal. Good Luck to Nancy fight your fight. Oh yes as to Mikes first 100 days, Laughable and what do think aabout Lew's son now folks. Living in the great Town of Ulster, I can't wait for Election Day. Bye NICKY and your friends too.

Ya right. Important changes. That is funny. More spending, spending, spending. Its nothing new. That's why Ulster County will be like the United States. In debt.

I heard about the new sign for the County Executives office. I could not believe it was as bad as people were saying. I took a trip to the 6th floor yesterday afternoon and I have to report that they were wrong. It is worse. It is one thing to identify the offices, but this wall is a monument to Mike Hein. After seeing the GREAT WALL OF HEIN, I came up with this hypothesis.

The wall is all telling of how things are working in the Exec's office.
Who designed and approved the wall? Why would they think that a 10 Ft monument to the Executives offices was a good idea? Is shows that the people responsible for the renovations are in full ass kissing mode. Do they not see the symbolism in such extravagance or do they just not care?

The people around Hein who did not tell him that is was not a good idea and how poorly this was going to be received did not earn their paychecks on this decision.

Hein's advisors blew this one. The emperors new clothes anyone?

Why wasn't Len Bernardo invited to the Brunch today? Shouldn't we be working with him? I was talking to him yesterday and he said he would have been happy to be there but had no invite. He was very nice to me and said he looks forward to working with us to build a better government. He wants jobs, reduced taxes, and accountable... transparent Legislative government. He asked me to ask our leaders what they want. Guess I will ask Mike Hein that question today if he even cares to talk to me. He has never taken as much time to talk to me a Len has. I told him I saw the Kingston Times and he just smile and said Hugh wrote a good article.

Thats it.....now I am curious. I guess I will have take a field trip to the sixth floor to see the show.

We should all take a field trip at the same time. Maybe the county can hire a 100k a year tour guide to show us around. Just like the White House tour.

I was a Hein supporter... and even I will admit... the 6th floor of the Executive building really is outrageous and out of control. I cannot imagine the pretty penny that THAT must have cost!

Could someone please get a picture of this thing and post it on a blog? Some of us little people have never been to the 6th floor and will never see this memorial to Hein.

Is it me or is Hein getting darker? How could he be working 75 hours a week and be that tan? Tanning bed?
