Bruhn for GOP Boss

While we wait for the results of the Auerbach campaign, I guess we can deal with some local issues and one of them is the new leadership in the Kingston Republican Committee.

It seems that Mario Catalano has given the word that it is time for Jean Jacobs to go as Republican Chair and he has the votes to get rid of her when they reorganize next month. The question is who will take over the top spot? Tony Sinagra (yawn) and Rich Cahill (yawn) have been mentioned as possible people to take over.

I like Tony but his time has come and gone, if the Republicans want real leadership and a shot at taking back the council next year they must restore integrity to the committee, Micheal Bruhn Jr., is the guy that can do that.

Now as a Democrat I am hoping that Jacobs stays on as long as possible but as an independent observer, Mike Bruhn Jr., is the way to go if the GOP wants to start winning elections.

It would be a real shocker if Mario does anything involving a Town Committee. The Town Committee will have to resolve this all on their own. Waiting for Mr. C to act could take a while, chairs never want to get dirty in town matters.

Say what you want about Ms. Jacobs, but her heart and soul have always been and always will be about caring for others. Public service in this small, cranky negative town is never appreciated and I always wonder why ANYONE would choose to do so.

jean jacobs did not hold regular meetings, did not call a city committee meeting to find a candidate for second ward alderman. mr. cosme would not let the democratic candidate go free with out an opponent. mrs. jacobs did not fill the slate in 2007 and mr. cahill made an effort to bring candidates to the slate. since she has not done the job she has to go.

Beradi was ignored by the Dems because he has not been involved - just voted and has not helped like Blaber, etc... he is washed up and would be just another reject like Walker.

i dontlive in kingston but i dont think Cahill is the way to go, too ill-tempered, slow-witted, & just an angry pissed off loser,,imo,

Young Bruyn has the temperment, brains & Fire in the Belly to make the City's committee what it was under the Late Jim Thompson - effective, if not victorious.

    Go Mike jr,,,,

Cahill may be quick tempered, but he's not slow witted.

JB--Before you allow anonymous comments, at least check if it fact or fiction. Truth is 1:09 PM is way off base. The word on the street was City leaders were even stopping traffic to try to find a suitable candidate for Ward 2 to place on the ballot instead of the 6x loser. As for the other issues, again, check for accuracy. It is part of investigative reporting.

Are there any republicans left in Kingston? They should just fold the party. Kingston is a one-party town.

I am a member of the Republican Committee. I prefer to keep anonymous for this post.

Jean Jacobs did absolutely nothing to get a candidate. There was not even a City Convention. When asked about it, Jean said, and I quote, "I didn't know we had to do that."

She is a useless waste of space. I can't wait to see her gone.

622PM is wrong.Check in 2009 and Hoffay will be opposed by a Republican candidate and it will not be Mr. Cosme. Every Democratic Candidate will be opposed as will every Sottile supporter. The Common Council will be under Republican control.
