Sheriff of wall st needs to police himself.

Remember Family Vacaction, when the auto mechanic was going to overcharge Clark, and Clark ask if the sheriff knew of his business practices? The mechanic turned out to be the sheriff.

Why Jeremy, do you so admire a law breaker? A man with zero morals. How can a man, who cannot honor a commitment he made to his wife, keep any commitment to the people.

Bring him to Kingston. Maybe he has enough balls to put Sottile in Jail where he belongs. Not only has he put the city in the toilet, now he is plowing snow for a contractor on City time. Wont somebody do something.

He did a real good job for New York. on February 14, 2008 He wrote Predatory Lenders' Partner in Crime.
How the Bush Administration Stopped the States From Stepping In to Help Consumers.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/13/AR2008021302783.html

Not 1 month later, the Government kicked back. Read Huffington Post, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steven-g-brant/eliot-spitzer-george-bush_b_91764.html

Ok, the guy had some issues, but "let him without sin cast the first stone."

yeah, like a fish needs a bicycle!

This is really simple. Spitzer was a criminal by his own admission while he was the state's top prosecutor. What more do we need to know?

I don't care if the guy cheats on his wife. That's a private matter. But if he commits a crime as a prosecutor, whatever that crime may be, he can never again be trusted.

No matter how many of his accomplishments you list, they can't come close to making up for being a criminal at the same time he was a prosecutor.

Besides, what idiot spends 80 grand on a hooker when he can get better women for free? This is the guy you want looking after our money? Seems to me he has no idea how to be a fiscal watchdog.

So where will he be?

In keeping with our promise to followup on Current Events.....Terry Bernardo- The wife of Heins former opponent, Independence Party Chair, Len Bernardo, has assumed the mantle of leadership of one of the legislatures most compelling committee’s. Government Operations and Efficiency. And although the big 3 of County Government were asked to meet with the committee, to discuss their concerns with the County personnel policy, which was written in the 80’s, only Fred Wadnola, the legislative chair, and Elliot Auerbach the county comptroller, were respectful enough of the Legislature to attend. As usual, ( I will not be summoned) Hein, who makes summoning people, including the press to his office, an art form, sent his “pit bull” County Attorney, to discuss his feeling about a revision to the personnel Policy. There he goes again, as promised, he is leading the way. Accompanying Ms Havranek, were Brenda Bartholemew, the Personnel director, who is only responsible for performing HR services, and Marshall Beckmann, the former mental health director, and an obvious part of any Hein administration, to appear in his place. ( there has to be some irony in the fact that one of Heins closest confidants is a mental health professional) Unfortunately, after a couple of hours, we still don’t know where Hein stands on anything. Nothing new there, as most people in Ulster County are still trying to figure out what he does, or stands for. On a political note, he sent his lackey, Legislator Brian Shapiro to insist that the committee direct all ethics considerations to the County Ethics Panel, appointed by Hein, to review the ethics rules, which are almost daily, violated by Hein. Nice going Brian. We think Brian might be, smelling a little too much “Cat-nip” over at the SPCA, where he serves as Executive Director, and is completely beholden to the County Executive to make sure a stipend was included in Heins budget for the organization that employs him. Hmmmmmm. These guys have their own idea of ethics, don’t they?

Nobody is perfect.I personally think he did a hell of a lot better than Patterson.Yes I think he deserves a second chance.
Washington gave Marion Barry a second chance after being caught smoking crack with a hooker.....just saying

What about the safety officer bringing her dog to work everyday. Sottile condons that too. He lays off half a department then pays someone $40,000.00 to baby sit a dog.

What a quandry. I am sure Spitzer would have been a better Governor than Patterson but Spitzer had made a lot of enemies in his time in public service. Wouldn't haven't gotten a lot of support for any policy he wanted to set due to grudges of individuals he had burned. Notice how nobody came to his defense in his hour of need. In fact, they gloated.

But he is a much smarter man than Patterson in the way of politics & economics and might have been able to rule over the NYS senate with some form of finesse.

I still keep going back to his moral issues, his sense of entitlement that he was above the law And that concerns me.

Thus, the confliction.

Why is Councilman Eric Kitchen not paying his taxes out in the town of Ulster? This guy talks a good game but shows irresponsible behavior by not leading by example. Is that what the good people of ulster voted him in for? We will have to keep an eye on him.

We need NICKY B. WOERNER back!

Anonymous said...

If the councilman in Ulster cannot pay his taxes, this shows how the everyday man is having trouble paying. A man who is very visible and cannot pay his taxes must be in some dire straits or feeling the pinch in rising taxes. Welcome to my world!!

Anonymous said...

A councilman like asshole Kitchen, who is awfully full of himself, should be paying his taxes no matter what!

Anonymous said...

Your right 9:23. If anyone is struggling to pay any of their bills, they shouldn't be criticized. And it shouldn't be posted on blogs for all the world to see. Its a reflection on the economy and the high taxes in New York state when people are losing their homes because of foreclosures, unemployment, health care bills, and high taxes. It's nothing to make fun of. I can't pay all my bills either - and a lot of people I know are in the same boat.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, 6:44, but Kitchen is a rightwing conservative republican that looks down on folks that are lower middle class and he campaigned on the platform that says you gotta show responsibility when it comes to finances. That would make Councilman Kitchen a bit of a hypocrite wouldnt it?

Anonymous said...

Your right 9:33,Eric Kitchen walks around out in town of ulster like he is bosshog, waddling around like he is a big shot! He has the manners of a barnyard animal and could possibly be the most unattractive man in the whole town! His conservative views warrant better personal examples when it comes to representation.

Who the hell is Eric Kitchen? Is he that low rate real estate salesman?

9:33 - I don't remember what platform a councilman (or alderman) ever ran on. Few local politicians have any platform at all. However, sometimes people's financial difficulties have nothing to do with being irresponsible. There are many factors that could contribute to one's inability to meet their financial obligations incurred several years ago. People all over this nation are losing their homes to foreclosure. No one buys a home thinking they won't be able to afford it. But when the economy tanks, people lose their jobs and self-employed people sufferfrom a reduction in income. Taxes only go up (except in the Town of Rochester - they actually went down - congratulations to the elected officials there) - and often-times the tax increase exceeds the cost-of-living increase. What about the elderly living on a fixed income? There was no increase in Social Security this year. Yet, Central Hudson got their increase and the remainder of the towns in Ulster County got a tax increase. So now on the same amount of money as last year, expenses go up. Are they irresponsible? No one can say that someone else is irresponsible with their money unless they see their checkbook (or whatever) to know exactly how they spend their money. I know of other elected officials (and I'm sure you do too) who can't pay their bills, but that doesn't make them bad legislators and it doesn't make them hypocrites. What's hypocritical is someone who is religious but has no empathy, sympathy, or tolerance for others less fortunate than him- or herself. Or someone who doesn't believe in gay rights (and is vocal and continually votes against gay marriage) but is caught in the bathroom of an airport trying to pick up the guy in the next stall. With the exception of Madoff or anyone else who made their fortune ripping off others, I would never wish for, or find glee in, someone else's financial misfortune. I guess maybe it's because I live paycheck to paycheck, and I know how hard it is to be able to pay the bills. Maybe a legislator who can understand what the taxpayers are enduring are better than a legislator who is well off. I don't want someone who is wealthy representing me and shrugging off a double-digit tax increase because they can easily afford it. A representative who knows what his/her constituents are going through would be more likely to cut expenses before raising taxes.

9:33. A lot can happen to a councilman or taxpayer since the election. A lot of politician's speeches play to what the voters want to hear. Maybe Mr.Kitchen has taken a hit financially and regrets his statements during the campaign. But it is not up to us to denigrate a man having trouble with his bills/taxes without walking a mile in his shoes. It has been quite awhile since I lived paycheck to paycheck but I find myself back in this position and not due to some large spending sprees; just overwhelming taxes and utility bills.

I happen to know councilman Kitchen and he is a good family man as well as a good neighbor. He works hard for the taxpayer in ulster and voted to oppose Woerner's 23 % tax increase that was given to the people last year. He is involved heavily with the recreation dept. this year to help keep kids playing in our parks and off the street. IF he is struggling a little right now that means he is feeling the crunch like everyone else in the community. I feel better hsaving a representarive like kitchen that can identify with the average homeowner and I am proud to have voted for him!

Lets face it people, Eric Kitchen prides himself in being a little bit better than other people. He IS A HYPOCRITE because he would definetly and HAS definetly judged other people that do struggle on social services. Maybe now he is learning that it is tough for some folks trying to make ends meet. There are good family people that are lower middle class people that Kitchen would think is scum and that isn't cool. Now all of a sudden we're suposed to feel sorry for his lame ass?

Anonymous said...

Fuck Eric Kitchen! Who the hell is he, some real estate agent that cant sell shit! Maybe he will have to get a real job and bust his ass like some of the working poor out here!

He sold my house in May of last year in less than 6 months, during he worst housing market. So here is a message for 7:23, STFU!

We could only Dream that folks like Schumer, Hinchey, and Cahill would have to feel economic pain. We could only imagine, if they had to decide whether or not to buy food, or pay thier property and school taxes. It would be a life lesson for these assholes, who are COMPLETELY sheltered from their decisions that affect us. And even worse, are seemingly more and more sheltered for LIFE! What ever happened to reaping what one sows.

Shame on that pompous ass Eric Kitchen, he is two or three years in arrears of his taxes! What kind of leadership is that? I thought "big shots" pay thier taxes. LOL, Big shot my ass!

Anonymous said...

Yo,Jeremy whats up with Eric Kitchen welching on his taxes, man? This guy is a councilman? He is supposed to be a leader, what the hell are we supposed to think about Welcher Kitchen?

Anonymous said...

Hey, Eric kitchen voted AGAINST raising taxes in Ulster not once but twice!! He is to be commended for that. I dont care if he is behind in his taxes, I care about my taxes being raised and he was the only councilman that was a nay vote to do so. That goes along way with me and so he will have my vote next year!

I thought that this blog was about the Best Gov. that could have been, not about a dead beat tax evader. For the record I wish that Sptizer was still our Gov. His personal indiscerations are nothing comapared to the lunitics who are running the assylum of state goverment. Those who still want him curcified, are the right wing knuckle dragers. Personaly, I think he was set up by the corprate world using the ever to eager repuclicans to take revenage for what he did to the cortarations. I am not a conspericy nut, but.... this is right out of the pages of the God Father, or the Nixon white house.

Well Blabs it was the Dems who insisted on crucifying him in the wake of the scandal, and how is it that now they are screaming about Patterson when they were so quick to get rid of Spitzer? It never made any sense but it is never about sense, me boy, but it is more about "Nunsense" or Imagery.
The irony politically too is that Sptizer was one of those many Jews who decided that in order to be maximally Jewish in terms of career, power, and money, he was going to crawl up the butts of the Catholics a la Fordham University(not exactly the Yeshiva we can agree) on his way up.
In a larger sense NY doesn't need more politics and politicians, but it does need a reality check every once in awhile to see who is exercising the most influence and can we trust even the Catholic church that much(whether with Spitzer or anybody, such as boys)??!!
