Zimet Wins Caucus by More Than 2:1 Margin!

Zimet 167 Hokanson 56

Susan Zimet won the New Paltz Democratic caucus tonight in her bid to be the next Supervisor of the town of New Paltz by a more than 2:1 margin over incumbent Toni Hokanson! New Paltz Democrats as always made the right decision, Susan will do a great job her tenure as Supervisor was cut short a few years back and I think it's important that everyone gets a second chance. Congratulations to future Supervisor Susan Zimet!

And on a related note, no the 10pm tremors in New Paltz was not another earthquake, just Guy Kempe stomping his feet in protest!

It is now up to Joe O'Connor, Julian Schreibman and Karen Markasenis to appoint a Democrat to replace Susan on the ballot for County legislature, early names include Dan Torres who currently serves on the New Paltz School Board.

I don't think they can appoint. It is too late. The spot must remain blank.

I think the committee to fill vacancies still can appoint a replacement, I'm pretty sure it's not too late.

I think Dan would be a great candidate. He is a bit young but he is knowledgeable and would work hard.

More then 2 to 1? Oh New Paltz! Also, they should pick Dan.

I don't live in New Paltz so I don't really care, but why would they have any interest in this guy at this point? He is a bit young and inexperienced. The biggest problem this county has is spending and taxes and this guy has no experience in either. He doesn't pay any taxes and he has no experience with what people who are trying to make ends meet and raising a family are going through. He may be a nice guy and have great intentions, but I would not want him representing me at this point. BTW what is the deal with your love fest for Zimet? She is a snake.

you know my number, look up my name said...

How come I didn't get the credit for your Caucus Update, JB ??

I notice you texted me, not a Dem,,,???

Credit where Credit is due, Bro,,,

Butch, I am happy to give you credit, the majority of people that give me information strongly ask their name NOT be used. Thank you to Butch Dener for the fast caucus results!

Deadline for committee on vacancies is long past. The seat is lost.

The seat is not lost. Read the election law which clearly states that a substitution can be filed once the certificate of nomination from the caucus is filed. The committee to fill vacancies has 3 days to find a replacement once Zimet files her substitution paperwork. DUHHHHHHHH

Since you are fair and balanced
What are your comments on Turco and Polacco choosing to avoid the debate with Cahill and Jacobs?

Dan Torres would be disaster. As 9:13 said, he knows nothing about county issues or the struggles of taxpayers. He lives at home and is a full time college student. He won the school board seat because he ran unopposed.
