BREAKING NEWS CONGRESSMAN HINCHEY TO RETIRE

As first reported here on Blaber News last week: Congressman Hinchey will not seek another term for Congress..more later. This is a huge loss to the 22nd district.

Will we lose the district or will a long list of politicos now start running for his seat? Full details later.

I guess that's where Mike Hein is looking to hang his hat. I think Cahill is a better fit, at least he knows all the asses that he has to kiss, he's been kiss'n Hinchey's for years.

Good luck to Congressman Hinchey. I hope he gets healthy and enjoys his retirement.
I will support just about ANYONE, but Hein to take his place. He has not earned it and he is not strong Democrat. I can just imagine the uptown crowd tripping over themselves to get behind their golden boy.

7:02, Cahill has never kissed his ass, he has simply shown him the respect he deserves as the elder statesman of the Ulster County Democrats. Cahill apparently knows that you acknowledge the people who blazed the trail before you. Some other local politicians could take a lesson from him in that area.

Hopefully the party does not lay down and buy into the Hein show. He fooled the party into believing that he is a democrat, all the while the republicans are thrilled because they have their republican county executive in disguise.

Lets make sure there is a real democrat to run for the seat, someone who can work the doors and earn the position through old fashioned politicking. Hein has never run a real contest for anything and he does nt have the personality to win over voters one by one like Cahill does.

Time to start working on Kevin, let him know that the seat should be his. Let him know the support will be there. keep Mike busy with conflicts in the legislature, divide his focus, and make him show his repuiblican soul in order to win over the support of the legislature.

If not Kevin, then lets recognize that there are others out there. Just don't hand this to the disguised republican.

George phillips is a better candidate than cahill. He has the public's interest at heart. Cahill is only concerned about Cahill. He loves his power position in Albany. As poster 7:02 stated....how true...

I'm sure Bernardo could do that

Rich Cahill I could support. Kevin? No way in hell.

The decision will be made in Washington. They will send the money to the person who will win, and only that person. If I were a betting man, I would put the odds in this order Cahill, Ahouse, Ryan and finally Hein. Cahill with his extensive Legislative experience and his current position in Albany has the best credentials. Ahouse is very well liked, knows Washington and the key players. Ryan is electable and has higher office aspirations. Hein is a Republican who fooled the dumb ass locals but could not fool the DNC. He is where he is going as far as elections go. He has shown his true colors, and there aren't any shades of blue.
