Aaron, Roberti and Ulster's wfp numbers...

I ran into local developer Steve Aaron in Uptown Kingston today and he took some exception to a post I had done a month or so regarding a fundraiser for Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo he had held in Saugerties. The details of our conversation are between him and I but pretty much he felt the post was taken out of context. I respect Mr. Aaron for coming up to me and addressing it with me directly. I feel very strongly that if you are going to write about someone or their business you should be prepared to man up and give them your time and I did. I feel what I wrote was factually accurate, (although maybe some of the comments were not and I apologize I do not write the comments).

I bring this up because our Republican counterpart moJoe Roberti, who is the blog administrator of Ulster MoJoe, is a coward. I confronted him at the GOP convention awhile back about the crazy posts he has written and continues to write about Elliott Auerbach and Mike Hein and he ran away like a child.

moJOE Roberti has a post now that says Elliott Auerbach won because of " Andrew Cuomo's huge coattails." Let me give Roberti a little lesson about this election stuff, a win by five thousand votes in a county wide election in Ulster is not a coattail victory It's the people of Ulster County reelecting their comptroller. Roberti writes on his blog this detailed analysis like he's some political expert..he made predictions and analysis on eight races this year, he got two correct. (maybe three depending on the outcome of the Skartados race, which is looking good for Kirwin.) By contrast I predicted thirteen and missed two of them.

Fact of the matter is I have forgotten more about politics than Joe Roberti will ever know, he should leave the commentary to someone that knows what they are talking about and continue to sit home alone and make his photo shopped pictures of animals having sex in the background of one of Hein's press conferences, which is more suited for his intellect level.

Roberti also made some sny remarks about WFP, saying the party is "claiming they won Row D" as if they are making it up. I got news for you moJOE, wfp is not just claiming they have Row D, they are proudly screaming it from the rooftops!! As a matter of fact besides the wfp being the margin of victory in both the AG and Comptroller's races, they had a VERY strong showing in Ulster County! Look at the difference in the numbers from the 2006 governor's race and in 2010 in Ulster County :

2006

Independence 3401
Conservative 2393
Working Families 1881

2010

Conservative 3588
Working Families 3058
Independence 2363

That's a huge jump and we should all be proud! In upstate New York, wfp is strong but in nyc, they are unstoppable. If you get the WFP endorsement in nyc, nine times out of 10, you will get elected. Last year wfp candidates took the Democratic primaries( which in nyc is pretty much the election ) for NYC Comptroller, Public Advocate, and dozens of local council races...beating the establishment candidates. People are sick of politics as usual and know that the WFP line represents a way for them to vote their values and hold politicians accountable to their campaign promises.

Jeremy

Notice the Conservatives had almost the same increase in numbers.
But even bigger is the decrease in Independence party. ANd at a time of partisan politics being in the crapper. Thank your buddy Len for that next time you stay at his house.

Of course they are unbeatable in nyc, they got 70,000 votes on their line from ny. The next higest was indy that had 45 and change. Nyc is their base.

mojo is all washed up

Mojo sucks!! He is all about bashing hein and the couties southern republicans. If it wasn't for the south there would be no Repubklicans. The republican party should throw him out. You don't eat your own. ( except in saugerties)

The WFP stronghold is in NYC. A place that can't even afford to pay for their own choo choo trains. It would figure that support for the WFP is growing in Ulster, seeing as how this county is going right down the tubes like the city. The state is right there with them. But hey, let's ride the wave. Maybe next NYC will make us pay for their water. Oh that's right, we do that too.

Jeremy, great job. Your discription of Joe Roberti in right on tarket. He is a slob and a jerk. His mentality is of a 5yr old. I take that back a 5 yr old has more sense then this jackass. He is so green with envy over Mike Hein and Elliott. His posts show his ignorance. Don't let him get away with it Jeremy, call it the way it is.

Based on some of your comments, don't brag about your political knowledge. That well is bone dry.

No monkey business with your mayor poll. Last time, Chipman was way ahead and you took down the poll and lied about it.

Be honest this time.

I tried to vote for Rich Cahill and the poll would not accept my vote. What gives?

Mojo is just a daddy's boy. He does what daddy tells him. Daddy is trying to live his life through Joe and just like his life his son is a failure. Hope they both just go away then maybe saugerties can start moving forward

So your conversation with Aaron is confidential yet you turn over a private message from someone you consider a friend to the Daily Freeman and put it on your blog....ie. Quigley. I am not Quigley fan but your treatment would seem to be inconsistent if not hypocritical. Regardless of the content, a conversation that was meant to remain private should stay that way.

Please, I have had numerous conversations with Quigley that were 10x worse than that. The difference is how he acted..he told people that I went to the police on him and numerous other things that were untrue and refused to address the lies he was spreading around town..people only know half the story. If it was just him cursing on my voicemail, I could care less.

1042: Look at the poll..u dont think it's already been hijacked and def not by me..the person I voted for is not even in the top three.

1038, I never have claimed to be an expert but I know more than Joe Roberti.

Roberti is a sad human being. He clearly has some kind of jealous man crush on Mike Hein. The fact that he takes the time and effort to photoshop him is just odd. He needs to get a life. Also, I feel embarrassed knowing that I live in a county where a man like that could be elected into office.

I agree 244..There is a comment on mojo attacking Adele Rieter for being a fake lawyer, it's just over the top.. For one, Adel is the nicest person you will ever meet and I asure you a real lawyer, she is a former prosecuter in the Bronx county D.A.'s office..tough, smart person, county is lucky to have her.

I'm curious to know about the "Rent Is Too Damn High" line in 2010 for governor. Seriously, I am sure many people, especially in NYC, feel the rent is too damn high, and why wouldn't that be a way to hold anyone's feet to the fire Blabs? Long Live the "Rent Is Too Damn High" Line!! May it spread and prosper upstate too!Wonder how many votes that line got....well we didn't learn it from this blog, that's for sure!!
And the other thing is this..."the rent is too damn high" line doesn't require anyone to sign onto ridiculous claims that a candidate has to be against--and actively fight against-- Wal-Mart because it accepts goods from labor sweatshops in Argentina or Singapore. This is what these fanatics in the WFP do when looking at alderman races in Kingston. Alderman, I tell you...not joking.... You've got folks who sit on those committees and try to ensure that someone is a flaming activist out to change not only a ward but the entire freaking planet(oh, and sorry, I was the object of a blog rant by Mayor Sottile on this point--and I take my frustration over to the coveted WFP too--well bust my breeches if you post this then, as nothing is ever posted the powers that be and their willing hero worshippers don't admire). That's nice--but it's not reality, Blabs. The claim Blabs, that WFP somehow holds someone's feet to the fire is absurd in this state of entrenched interests and politicians. It is the process itself--meaning that if the WFP wasn't so cheaply weak--- that holds the WFP to the absurd position that being on the ballot and getting more votes on its line somehow means holding anyone's feet to the fire. The WFP also shoots itself in the foot nine times out of ten with its ridiculous potpourri of issues and litmus tests, and with your hero worship of Dan Cantor, you're welcome to have it but no change is ever made by politics in America these days Blabs. No need to be optimistic on that score, Blabs. But--I understand--the survey of Americans in demographic groups was posted by CNN yesterday, and your age group seems to generally have an optimism about life that is lacking among those who have been around for awhile longer. Good luck on that, but please don't let the cigs render you the opposite of an optimist any time before your time to become like the rest of us.
