Chief Keller Retiring

Chief Jerry Keller announced on Saturday that he was retiring as Kingston Police Chief at the end of the year. I wish Chief Keller the best of luck and thank him for his service to Kingston, he's a great chief that served with integrity and kept Kingstonians safe.

I think you will see  a lot of department heads retiring at the end of the year, that's the way it goes when a new administration starts. The new Chief of police whomever it be will have big shoes to fill.

Timmy Matthews for Chief? Give him a bigger office and a bigger safe...

You gotta figure if he's kept busy enough as the chief, with a straight salary with no opportunity for overtime, then, there won't be any double dipping shenenagins, right? Of course, a pending felony conviction...yeah..he's gotta beat that nasty rap before he could be chief, but he's got Mikey Jr. on the case, right? And dad knows where all the bodies are buried, right? Plus he's got dopey Carnright in his corner. He's got a fair to midland chance of beating the rap.

Notice there hasn't been any movement on the $9,000 case yet. No grand jury indictment, nothing. Me thinks the DA, Chief, and Mayor jumped the gun on that one to make Tim look bad. It would really suck to be them if all of that money was accounted for, now wouldn't it? Especially since one of them is up for re-election.

Any ideas on a likely replacement?
