Hein Endorsed by Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum

County Administrator Mike Hein today received the endorsement of Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum. This endorsement is very significant. Sheriff Van Blarcum knows what it takes to win County-wide and what it takes to lead a multi million dollar department because he has done both.

The endorsement from Van Blarcum comes on the heels of a recent endorsement from the Esopus town Democratic Committee last week.

The sheriff should stay out of this race. What if Hein loses? How will the sheriff get along with the person who does get elected?

Executive Hein? How about Administrator Hein?

Oh well then I will run right out and vote for Hein. If the Sheriff likes him then he must be all right. When will you learn that endorsements from other politicians in the same party as the candidate are pretty much meaningless.

7:48 The sheriff understands that Hein is the best person for the job. End of story.

The Sheriff is a good man and he is doing a great job. BUT, this is really just one Democrat endorsing another.

You cannot transfer the Sheriff's popularity to Hein, a man who only changed to Democrat because they won the majority. I want someone who was there from the outset, not a johnny-come-lately.

It would have been of great help if the sheriff had supported our DA candidate, Jon Sennett but he laid low. Then again, the DA doesn't determine the Sheriff's budget, the County Executive will. The sheriff is a good man, but when all is said he should not delve into the political arena.

1:20 Take the time to ask Mike why he switched parties. Don't just blabber on Blaber's blog.

I'm tired of this already. Let's do what they did in Kingston, back out of this whole Executive/Manager thing and go back to the old crony system, then there's at least two less cronies to pay. SHREK

4:32 Correction...We have an executive crony form of government in Kingston.

Isn't this like politicking on the taxpayer's dime both on Mr. Hein and the Sheriff's part?
