Here and There

Is the Democrat Sheriff running or not? Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum has been pretty mum on his reelection plans making some people wonder whether or not he will seek another term. Obviously, we hope he does, he's a good sheriff and will easily win reelection.

Robin Yess to challenge Auerbach? We hear Dennis Pitcock and Robin Yess are both considering a run for Comptroller against popular incumbent Elliott Auerbach. Robin Yess, though, really?!
Robin Yess has a better chance of being Sheriff than our next Comptroller.

THE CAHILL KILLER? Jim Maloney, the self proclaimed Cahill Killer is rumored to be thinking of taking on Kevin Cahill in the 101st this November. While Jim Maloney defeated Kevin's brother last year, it's a little cocky of the Ulster Lawmaker to think he has a prayer against Assemblyman Cahill. Cahill who remains very popular and powerful in Ulster and Albany, need not fear if the best Catalano and the GOP can put up, is Jim Maloney.

Congratulations to the new junior Senator from Massachusetts, Scott Brown. While I don't agree with the results, Senator Brown won fair and square and lets hope he does the right thing.

you are too young to remember John Guerin's stellar power campaign that took Kevin out back in the 90's.

Kevin is extermely vulnerable now because of his close ties to Sheldon Silver, the most disliked person in ALbany - now that Bruno is gone.

Kevin better watch his "Heiny" cause there are more than just Jimmy - boi after him.

It is very early to be bragging about Kevin's invincibility especially after Massachusett's loss of a " can't lose" office.

Careful buddy,

If there is anyone who believes that Kevin Cahill does not fully understand the circumstance he finds himself in this election, they are sadly mistaken. Cahill is one of the most intelligent people I know. It would be foolish to think he all of a sudden got dumb and does not see what is happening all around him.

Don't take Blaber's hyperbole as Cahill's opinion. You will never hear Cahill say he is invincible, not even close. In fact, he reminds people of what happened with Guerin all the time and he has since he was reelected.

Do you ever say anything intelligent or do you just drool

Bringing MAloney into this just to make him look bad regarding Brian and using that anger to make Kevin look good doesn't hold up Jeremy!
I think your dissing Catalano after the Trunaround he orchestrated in Nov. is a little naive to say least and after your support for Corzine and Coakly, I would be very afraid to have you in my corner, you are becoming the political Kiss of death!

IS Guerin still sitting behind that big plant?

You call 11 LAWSUITS and counting against the SHERIFFS department a sign of a good sheriff? He himself might cost the county more than the new jail itself.

Blaber, Brown winning in Massachussetts, whether fair and square--or said as the Kennedys would "fayyyyuhhhh and squayyyyyyuhhhh"---is a healthcare bill killer, so why in the world would you be so easy on the result? Come on, maybe you're still smoking too much and that is what you are relying on here.
I reviewed the entire history of Irish Catholics and their politics behind the Kennedys in Massachussetts in the runup to this result with the greatest assemblyman of New York State, that is, the man you proclaimed as such. You might want to review it with him, if you get a chance--it's time better spent than say, with Guiliani or Bruno.

You clearly still do not get it even after November's results and this Brown election...people are pissed off...all these people that you say will win easily are all vulnerable no matter who runs against them. Cahill for one is especally vulnerable because of who he is aligned with and what a debacle our state government has been in for decades. He does nothing to even attempt to fix it. I cannot wait to vote against him. The Sheriff? The ridiculous problems (porn viewing, sex harrassment cases etc..) in that office have been well documented over the last year and anyone that runs against him will have significant ammo to bring up again and again. Your attitude is why the dem's lost the two countywide elections and the legislature this year. The people are watching and they are pissed off.

Guerin won becasue of Mario Cuomo plain and simple...

And, yeah, I am sure Assemblyman Cahill will take this race as he takes every race seriously, I am simply opining that I don't think Kevin has much to worry about.

John Guerin? Yeah, he sure showed 'em, didn't he?

Go Maloney, great choice

You are not dealing with reality if you can't acknowledge that there is a title wave of anger and frustration, combined with an apathetic Democratic base that can lead to big trouble for the Democrats. As a Democrat we all had better unify and get our groove back or else, no matter who the candidate is, we are looking at a bleak election season. Good candidates don't necessarily win.

Wheres the great info on MOJo? Len tell you not to say anything since he owns Roberti> Terry would not get the praise without the shill in place. No guts Jeremy

Or is Mojo Terry herself?

What's up Jeremy? Spill the beans.

Terri is Len's mouthpiece with the Mojo Blog and on the Legislative floor. Can you say Svengali ?

Actually, Cahill lost the first time because he was hung out to dry by the Democratic Party for not being a good little Dem. Robot.

I just saw this about Maloney. If Jim Maloney chooses to run against Kevin Cahill, Quigley should force him to resign. His dirty little secret of leveraging his position as Assessor to get people to vote for, and donate to him for Legislator is pretty much out of the bag. Lot's of unhappy business owners in Ulster and they are not all mad at just Nickie.

I would love to hear some of the stories from business & large property owners in Ulster who happen to live there too.

Talk on the street is that Alderman Ron Polacco has been talking about challenging Kevin Cahill.

It would be interesting to see someone from Kingston challenging Kevin Cahill.

Ron Palacco would do GREAT.........................in the 6th ward.
