Polacco Gets Screwed

Tony Sinagra, the city GOP boss, broke a tie last week making freshman lawmaker Andi Turco Levin the Minority Leader of the Common Council over two term Alderman Ron Polacco.

Really Sinagra?! Ron Polacco was the only GOP voice the council had for the previous two years when all then Minority Leader Al Teetsil did was side with the Dems.

Rumor has it, Sinagra and Cahill cooked up the deal because they know Polacco wants to be the 2011 GOP nominee and they know he would destroy Cahill in a primary.

While I could care less the inner workings of the Republican party, Ron Polacco should be the Minority Leader, he earned it, to give it to Alderwoman Turco-Levin, who has paid no dues and has literally been in office for 10 minutes is insulting and embarrassing to Alderman Polacco and is meant to look that way on purpose. The Cahill/Sinagra deal is so obvious and I think it will backfire miserably.

Talk about slim pickin's.
Pollaco the 45 yr old guy who lives in his parents cellar vs. a Cahill a narcissistic, loud mouthed idiot.

Sottile might still win.

Sinagra broke the Minority Leader tie because he can tell little miss Turco Levin what to do. What Sinagra has done is cause more division in the City party. Absolutely shameful that you give a leadership position to someone who has not even earned their stripes. Just because you attend committee meetings does not entitle you to a position. Watch Sinagra because he's going to be the defacto boss calling the shots and little miss Turco Levin will not be her own person even though she says she's the voice of the people.

Why are you posting this story so late? This should have been a thread two weeks ago. It made front page in the daily rag and one of our weekly papers. This is huge. Polacco gets his minority leader post taken away from big cheeze Sinagra to punish him for meeting in the back room making deals with the democrats? That didn't happen and he knows it. Where was he all this time?

That's right. Butt out of Republican party matters. I am sure that Alderman Polacco can hold his own and doesn't need you to be a cheerleader for him. Let's focus on the pressing issues that need to be addressed in the City of Kingston.

You really do not know what you're talking about. Cahill had nothing to do with it. Also, Polacco would lose to Cahill in a landslide.

Don't get your Republican tips from the DiFalcos.

Ron's a good guy and he should defect to the dark evil side of the Democrats over his latest snub.

If you checked how many times Polacco was the dissenting vote, he questioned legislation that was not in the best interest of our residents. It proves he did his homework and was on top of issues, not just voting with the majority. That shows he has leadership skills and is not someone's puppet. It will be interesting to see how little missy stands up to the majority.

He's apparently also getting a blast also from Jim Sottile---see http://ulsterpublishingmessageboard.yuku.com/topic/575
The attacks are levelled on a personal level as you can see.
This has mostly to do with Sottile's war with me, started in earnest over a garbage delivery issue, which he simply feels he must continue. And I supported Polacco over his opponent last year and our Mayor Emperor's anger over this knows no end. He wanted a council that was still 7-1 or even 8-0. Too bad for the Emperor;he keeps crying in his Martini between bashing bashing bashing and then having the laughable audacity--aka "nerve"-- to then claim that someone ELSE is the "BULLY." Besides, the Uptowner Turco-Levin has better socioeconomics to suit Sottile's obvious preference for this "elitist" type of politics.
Neither does any maturity exist in this city and it will continue to deteriorate as a result, which is what it deserves under such ahem, "leadership." The rest of Sottile's claims in his posts will be left for another time--who can stand more than five minutes of this stupidity, pettiness, and blatant bigotry??

well I hope the Dems are smart enough to put Ball up again in ward 6 and NOT Gillon.

I will bet the rent money on the fact that Cahill Jr did in fact have a lot to do with what went down with Ron. After all, it is Jr who has aspirations of being mayor. Both Sinagra and Cahill are power hungry and will stop at nothing to bring anyone down.

Polacco would win by a landslide for sure. Check the voting records. And not for nothing...the DiFalcos don't lie and fabricate the truth. They call a spade a spade. So really, 10:27 pm, what's your beef?

Di Falco's offer plenty of criticisms and never a good solution. Bitter people. Should start their own party!!! How about the "Salahi Party"??
Get my drift...???

These comments about the personal lives of people are truly interesting and irrelevant to what is in the best interests of the city, 5:38.
Sottile is a loud-mouthed partially psychotic lout behind the cloak of a loud-mouthed respecter of others. Cahill, Jr. is a self-serving blabbermouth who honestly thinks Ronald Reagan's political philosophy is the key to Nirvana. Cosme is loud, annoying, and schizoid. Reynolds is a passive suckup to the Mayor. Senor gets more trivial every day, Turco-Levin is an interesting real estate lady who cannot possibly change anything on her own, a football to the silly personalities in this city like Sinagra, and what else? Jean Jacobs and her "medical health industry" resume'...and yes, a new party wouldn't hurt.
Sottile is focused on DiFalcos also. Who the hell cares and no I don't know who these people are so I "don't know what I'm talking about" automatically? Why not focus on how to stop the stupidity for a change and actually do something better--and I mean anything. Just anything. Merge with the Town of Ulster and make the municipal politics a matter of some kind of broadening of the horizons that the human mind is capable of achieving....why not??

5:38 is SOTTILE. This is his pattern and specifics of communication.
