Mayor Noble?

Alderman at Large Jim Noble won a recent Blaber News poll for Kingston Mayor. The poll was hotly contested with over 450 people participating. Hayes Clement came in a close second. The mayor race will take place next year.

Nobody knows who Noble is or where he stands on issues. He's like Clarence Thomas - "the silent one". Electing him would be too dangerous, as he's never given an opinion on anything. I voted on your poll 6 times (for different people) - don't give Jim Noble false hope.

Yeah but does Noble have the cohones to take on the unions that are responsible for breaking the bank? Not the workers mind you, it's the Union leaders that make unreasonable demands and refuse to acknowledge that 'We are Broke' and can't afford to pay them at current levels, not when those footing the bill average almost 20% less when you consider benefits. It can't go on any longer, WAKE UP CSEA etc, the Emerald City has lost it's glitter!

Noble is the obvious choice to be M=our next mayor. Jim Noble is a good guy that always does the right thing.

I like Noble as a person but to have him as Mayor will be another Sottile election. I have never seen or heard any dissention on his part regarding issues of Sottile politics. To me viable candidates are Clement, Polacco or Turco-Levine. There might be a candidate out there that is not on the council. Hmmmmm....

I believe that the City negotiates contracts with the unions and then the Common Council (which Noble is part of) votes to accept the contract or not. So please don't blame the unions. If the City didn't have the ability to pay why did they accept it.

All I've learned these past several months is that… we have many inept/incompetent politicians in office. They either vote to accept contracts that they are unprepared to pay or they try to blame others (in this case the unions) for their errors. Politicians need to stand up and accept responsibility for their actions.

Noble/Reynolds. Tell your boy Bill we love him nad his friend Hayes wants a woman as an alderman at large, just to balance the ticket and that is wrong!

We want Bill Reynolds.

8:25 - Jim Noble always does the right thing? What does he do?

12:12 Let us do it your way, say we accept past errors, if that is the case we need to elect men and women with the hutzpah of a Chris Christi, the only problem I see is Kingston or Ulster County for that matter doesn't have anyone with the character and charizma of the New Jersey Governor,
It must be the water!

The unions and the politicians are in cahoots with one another, you give in to our demands and we'll see that your re-election campaign gets the money and the manpower necessary to fill the election box. Who loses, we do! they are both culpable, both corrupt and both a drain on the taxpayer. The members lose when jobs need to get cut, the residents lose when taxes go up but the politicians remain and the unions demand.
It's all a pile of crap and it's falling on us.
