Rest in Peace Terry Myers

Terry Myers, owner of the Foxhall Deli passed away last night after a battle with cancer. Terry was a good friend and a great guy. Kingston won't be the same without him. Bellow is obituary information and I highlighted a part below that just made me laugh because it is so true.

I will miss the "morning meetings", I think over the years Terry kicked me out of his deli a dozen or so times lol, over silly political disputes and than I would go to Dietz stadium were we walked with Dr. Habeeb and convince him to let me back in.

We all had great times, Terry had a great sense of humor and knew the pulse of Kingston, if you wanted to know something you would go to Foxhall Deli and talk to Terry. I'm going to miss Terry a lot.

Obituary Information:

Terry's family will receive friends at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. The funeral will be held Saturday 11:00am at the funeral home, with the Reverend Dr. David Brechter officiating. Burial will take place in Wiltwyck Cemetery.

A graduate of Kingston High School class of 1978, he was well known as a "Simple Man". Since 1985, Terry was the owner of the Foxhall Deli in Kingston. He served as moderator to the morning meeting, where the subject matter ranged from politics to current affairs. Terry told it like it was. He will be missed. Your comments about Terry were right on the money.

Every so often, I would go in and he would tell me about how you were "banned" from the store. Each time Terry would say the "ban" was permanent, but he always relented. It was just the kind of guy Terry was.

I and the family alike are saddened by this news. My parents have known Terry for a very long time. It was ironic how when we moved here 13 years ago, the deli is right across the street, owned by Terry.

Terry seen me grow up over the years. My only hope is that he is in a better place now, where he has no worries about anything.

Rip Terry, See you on the other side.

Jeremy....Something made me check your page today....and I was SO upset to see that Terry has died. I am not in the area anymore, so I had lost touch with him.....

He was such a sweetheart and good natured man...I am just SO SAD about this.....and all I can say is, "Only the good die young." Not always, but his passing is proof of that statement.

Jeremy,

Did you get banned because you threw cookies at Quigley?

yeah Jolie, it's really sad, and even though it was not unexpected, I'm still a little bit in shock. He was just a good guy, that would do anything for anybody. Always would go out of his way to help people. Not many people like him anymore, a real class act.

1109: you know I hate to reminisce :~) For my defense that was the day after the comptroller election in 08 and I think I was running on 2 hrs of sleep. Yeah Terry kicked me out for a few weeks for that...

Wow.. A Ms. Poastmaster?

The Poastmaster mourns the passing of a great conservative, wonderful businessman, and an all-around stand-up guy. Bill Joel said it best that only the good die young.

ps. Terry banned Blabber for acting like a douche. Deep down, though, Terry loved Jeremy, and I know that Jeremy misses him deeply.
