Local Funeral home Jansen and Deegan catches fire

My heart goes out to the family who owned the local funeral home Jansen and Deegan. The fire ruined the entire building, luckily no one was hurt. While I will not name who the owner is because I want to respect the privacy of the family; I will say the owner is a good person and was even a public servant at one point, not to mention my 6th grade teacher. The family that owns the building also lived on the top floor, so not only have they lost their business but their home. I ask that you say a prayer for the family and keep them in your thoughts.

My heart goes out to the people that lost everything during the fire in their home and business. The people of the City of Kingston always puts aside their differences and come together as a community to help each other. If I can be of any assistance please contact me at rwgillon@gmail.com. I agree with you, Jeremy. They are very nice people and have been friends of my family for many years. It is truly a sad and tragic thing.

I will say though that the people of Kingston really came together. People were offering food, clothing, money, etc. I heard one person offer his home if they had nowhere else to sleep. It shows that when the chips are down, Kingstonians come together like none other.
