Sottile goes the extra mile

Mayor Sottile continues to go the extra mile to help Kingston residents...his latest random act of kindness involves a young boy named Isaiha, and his single mother Salina. Isaiha's mother works full time and was unable to get her son to the bus stop after the stop was moved from in front of the child's day care provider, due to sewer work being done in the area.

Salina was forced to temporarily take Isaiha out of the head start program and paid an extra 100 dollars a week to keep him in day care all day, a cost she simply could not afford.

The day care provider suggested Selina call Mayor Sottile and see what could be done...not expecting much she did. Much to her surprise Sottile offered to walk the boy to the bus stop himself, "If I have to take a half-hour out of my day to get him on and off the bus, that is what I am going to do," said the mayor, who lives on Linderman Avenue. "The kid needs to be in school. The city has caused this and he can't get to his program. I figured it was just easy enough for me to come and do it."

Salina expressed her extreme gratitude to the Mayor : "There are all these black eyes when it comes to politicians and this just goes to show that some do some good," Merrihew said. "For me, Mayor Sottile has gone beyond his duties. He doesn't really have to do this."

Ishima is happy with his new friend as well, He's pretty nice," the boy said.

well, well, well.... isn't this just a promoter's dream........ cutsie publicity....how can you go wrong with that? It's nice the mayor is doing something for the residents of the City, but taking kiddies to school is not what the people elected him to do. Get on the ball Mayor, your political days
are numbered.

I must be a burr under someone’s saddle, since I now am getting attacked! You are deluded if you think Sottile is a good mayor for the city of Kingston. He has accomplished nothing and is a constant embarrassment to the city whenever he opens his mouth. He needs to be a memory rather than the next mayor.
As for “put up or shut up”, how incredibly juvenile!
I do not feel threatened by anyone. I enjoy my role as commentator on the pettiness of City politics. I’m sure you’d like to know who I am, but I’ll keep that secret to myself. Like the Lone Ranger, only Tonto knows my real identity, and he’s not talking!
