48 Hrs

The amount of time it took Rich Cahill to turn the tragic death of a Kingstonian into a poltical attack against Mayor Sottile and his administration. Way to go Rich, you never let us down!

What do you expect from Jr? Nothing he does should surprise you. He is losing ground daily and the thought of him elevating himself to mayor is laughable. The City needs an individual who is more grounded. And that is not Jr.

So you're saying that the Mayor is not responsible for the safety of Kingstonians? He should not be held accountable? He should not answer for how this could have happened? He shouldn't tell the people of the city why the PD isn't receiving the support it needs when the city is wasting money on all kinds of nonsense?

951pm Rich: Even if we had 20 more officers there would still be crime in Kingston. The crime happened and within a day 4 suspects were arrested, seems like they are doing a good job to me under the leadership of Chief Keller. I happen to disagree with Sottile's budget cuts but the point is, you are using an awful event to promote your own political agenda...it's disgracful.

Jeremy,

By now, you know me well enough to know that I do not post anonymously. I have the courage to put my name on my postings.

I am not the person who posted at 9:51, though I agree with most of what he or she said.

I will not respond to your story against me. I feel confident in the opinions I have expressed because they come from my heart, not a political agenda. Perhaps that is one of the true differences between us, Jeremy. I speak from my heart whereas your statements and positions fly with the political wind.

Blaber, I'm not Cahill and you're not getting the point. Of course Chief Keller and his cops do a great job with what they are given. The problem is they aren't given enough. If Sottile wasn't wasting money left and right, the KPD would have the money they need to cut crime. If we had 20 more cops we would have less crime.

Sottile is not fit to be mayor. Hein is not fit to be Exec. Auerbach is not fit to be Comptroller. And you keep backing people for office who can't do the job.

If you want to think Cahill is the only one who sees the truth, keep deluding yourself. The truth is we're all over and we're going to beat the democrats and the liberals. You're backing a dead horse.

NOTICE Rich says: I am not going to respond to your story, as he responds to it! ;)

Blaber, Cahill responded to your dopey assumption that my posts came from him.

Notice, you didn't acknowledge or apologize for being wrong. Again.

And thanks for thinking I'm Cahill. That's a compliment to me. He's ten times the blogger you'll ever be.

Let's be clear, Cahill is a joke Blaber. The guy won't call for police cuts becasue he does not have the guts, Sottile is standing up for the best intrest of the people. We have a good police force, they caught the suspects within 24 hours, a full 24 hours before Little Cahill opened his mouth to complain.

The fifth supect, well he was arrested today by a neighboring police agency. You know it's amazing that these agencies work together.

In Kingston alone, you have the KPD, the UC Sheriff's office and the NYS Police...give me a break. We are doing just fine and not to mention, I am very happy and sleep safe at night knowing Jerry Keller is leading the KPD...nuff said!

You know why these things happen in Kingston? Because the gangbangers know there aren't enough cops to stop them. They don't care if they get caught and go to prison as long as they did what they set out to do.

To them, getting away with it is about finishing the job. Prison doesn't matter to them one way or another.

Kingston is getting a reputation among gangers for being easy, not because the cops aren't good or hard working, but because there aren't enough. Sottile isn't hiring enough cops.

The dirtbag who shot this young man came over from Poughkeepsie, for Pete's sake. Why did he come to Kingston if he didn't think he could do the deed successfully?

Give them KPD more money, put more cops on the street. The gangers will find places to do their dirty work.

Better yet, bring back the active use of the death penalty. Giving gang scum the needle will make them think twice.

Who are the members of the Boards of Police and Fire Commissions?

We hear that Little Dick is going to hold a White Pride rally on Friday night at 10pm on Cedar Street ;)

Best of luck with that. Better make sure your insurance premiums are paid up.

Sure Kingston is no prize when it comes to safe streets as evidence by our latest murder, but compared to Newburgh, K-Town is an utopia of peace, love, and unity....
