Fred Dicker of the NY Post Comments on Blaber Blog

Dear Jeremy,

I often check BlaberNews for the latest on the NY political scene in your neck of the woods. I was offended not to be able to read about what an ass the Governor made this past weekend where he mocked a sick person in a wheelchair who was portrayed in a TV commercial against his policies by the local 1199 SEIU union.

If you are going to report on the news, you need to cover all the news, Mr. Blaber! Not just what makes your political friends look good. Such a callow approach is sure to let the majority of your readership believe that your efforts are disingenuous at best.

All in all, you have a nice website, but please remember that it's not what you cover, it what you leave out that really stakes you to your bias. It was a pleasure to meet you a few weeks ago. Best of luck to you.

Cordially,

Fred Dicker

my response :

I respect the Dean of Albany politics and am honored that you read my blog. I did not purposely leave out anything, I have not had the time to view the video yet and give my opinion, I am not a well funded columnist like yourself :) I will watch the video and give an opinion in the next day or so...to be fair I have heard that the video is a little harsh. Maybe someday, you will be reporting on me in the Capitol.

All the best,

Jeremy Blaber

Jeremy,

I have heard that the blind idiot from Albany is going to appoint Emanual Nneiji to Judge Bruhn's slot. What is your opinion on this.?

Fred Dicker has offered good advise. You need to decide whether you are presenting a vehicle for political news and debate or a way of pushing your friends agendas.

I don't think it is a good idea to have paid ads on the right mixed in with your personal endorsements of candidates.

Well he hit your agenda right on the nose didn't he? People have been complaining about that type of omission from your sight for a long time. If it does not favor someone you support you don't put it up there or you put it up and try to minimize its affect. Here we have another example or our governor that really should and does speak for itself.

Hey, never underestimate the effectiveness of an open forum. I was quite pleased to hear a discussion about unopposed candidates we had here, echoed on CNN the other night. Since all the participants were anonymous, it made it easy for a major news outlet to co-opt it without all the legwork of finding out sources. Free and open discourse is an important engine of democratic governance. Ideals are far more effective without ties to individuals, who invariably detract from them.

While you may be able to talk your way out of one instance of failing to be critical of Democrats, you have a history of using your forum almost exclusively against Republicans and in favor of Democrats. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with using a blog to advance one political philosophy over another. However, when one does so, one should not pretend to be reporting "news".

Dicker is not the dean of Albany politics. He maybe the dean of Albany political journalists.

This post has some interesting points. Blaber is creating "content" information/advertising/commentary that he feels he wants to distribute. If his audience wants to read it, fine.

He is not claiming to be or representing himself as a journalist in the traditional sense. Therefore different rules apply.

An endorsement from Dicker should be flattering. I'd follow his advice if you are looking to follow in his footsteps.

Dear Mr. Blaber,

Please read this comment and respond ASAP. In one of the Freeman's blog spots that was growing and growing to 60+ responses someone said that he thought he found the Blaber Blog Troll after a comment I posted. It was ambiguous enough to not know exactly if he was referring to me regarding that prestigious honor or someone else. The story was from the 4/15 tea bagging tax rally. " Holy cow, I think we have found the Blaber Blog Troll. You are so full of yourself. You believe yourself to be intellectually superior to anyone who does not see "the light", or more like "your light". You don't even know how to stop your fingers. You share a similar afliction with your hero? or could you be one and the same.”

That is the cut and paste version, so who knows exactly who’s who or if I share a similar affliction with my hero or if I am you or if I’m my own hero or if this is you or who the fuck knows? I was going to email you but this jbubel dude wrote it and I believe he has his own blogspot and I prefer to make it a public thing.

Usually in your field of expertise, pedophilia, the fox smells its own hole, ass or otherwise. That's not even funny to mention something that serious because I happen to be a court-ordered or mandated reporter when it comes to that sort of thing--I can get your IP if necessary to make sure you are not the one staring before you pounce, so keep it going you droll troll freak. The headline will read "Local therapist finds pedophile on blog spot after mandated reporting comments to URGENT."
Then when you'rs sitting in prison again you'll find the real alternative definition of MANDATED.

Just because your a court appointed nitwit does not mean that you can get somones IP address. Be Serious

i'm not court-appointed anything just a satirical stand up who was going for a little shake up and it worked. don't misunderstand it though moron if the police want to track someone they can locate anyone's sheet-stained IP. you are a member of a new extemporaneous group i will call knittwits member #1.
