Chairman Wadnola, Where is the Transparency?

What up with Chairman Fred Wadnola canceling all the committee meetings for the month of January? It's suspicious with an ongoing investigation of the RRA, that Chairman Wadnola is doing this, Wadnola a former board member of the RRA, is widely expected to be criticized to say the least for his handling of this whole mess, the timing is suspect.

Putting that aside, what is the reason for canceling County business the first month of 2011, when there is so much work to be done???
I hear a month long vacation in Florida is one of the reasons..which is unacceptable, can you imagine if Mike Hein or a Democrat did that?

This does not look good, with the Republicans all but guaranteed to lose the County Executive race next year do they really want to lose the legislature without a fight too? With the GOP caucus losing members and others talking about starting their own caucus/coalition government, maybe it's a good time the legislature look at a new chair...just sayin'.

I love Fred's comments in the paper today that he does not read blogs so he knows nothing about what is going on.

I guess it's like if a tree falls in the woods it does not make a noise.

Lets face it blogs are an effective way to get out information and people listen. There is no doubt in my mind that this blog has set some public policy and had an effect on which candidates represent which party for some county wide offices.

So just becasue Fred Wadnola chooses to ignore blogs, which is not true anyway, does not mean they have any les impact. People like Fred say that to try and discredit this medium and it's really ineffective in my opinion.

It's simple. Vote in a new chair tonight and then they can reschedule the meetings.

Any Legislators have the balls to do that?
I didn't think so.

Fred is just back to his old self.

Wadnola is the epitome of the old school Ulster County Republicans. Instead of letting democracy run it's course, they rearrange the playing field to prevent people from having their say. This holds true when the reins of power are at stake, the money spigot can be turned off, or the other side might have an advantage. Fred does not like to lose, he will do everything in his power, including running away, to prevent himself from being on the short end of the stick.

I recall reading on many blogs what a problem Fred would be when he was selected as Chairman. I guess they were right.

Wadnola is not running again, he foes not give a crap. Actually, he never gave a crap. He was only ever in it for the money. Good riddance to a money grabbing, bad politician.

Is Felicello not deputy Chairman? What is Wadnola saying that a veteran legislator is not qualified to run meetings in Wadnola's absence? It's a slap in the face to Frank and all the legislators in the south, but regardless if Wadnola is taking all this time off maybe being Chair is not the best idea for him.

Wadnola did what he intended when he ran last time. He got publicity for his failing restaurant and padded his pension a little more. He will shut the restaurant down and move to Florida within the year. This time next year, Fred will be a resident of Florida and will be sending his $150,000+ of New York pension checks there. You heard it here first.

One other thing, he lied in the paper. He says he does not read the blogs, yet Cynthia, Fred, my wife and I spoke at great length about the stuff on the blogs. He knew full well what is out there, he and his wife both read the blogs.

Felicello and Gerentine were right to worry about the lack of Southern leadership. Hanust is a zero who has no business being Majority Leader. He never says a word. Felicello is being ignored because he tells it like it is. If I were them, I would toss Wadnola out on his ass.

My guess based on the Republican Legislators' primary goal of staying off the record on anything that might be important or controversial in the last year, I don't see how this course of action should come as a surprise to anyone. Seems to me that the easiest way to say off the record is to not vote or meet in the first place.

I guess they all still get paid since aiello set that bar

Fred lied in the paper today. When he called around to the Legislators to ask for their vote on New Year's Day, numerous Legislators told Fred that people are really unhappy, and many did not commit their vote to him.

If you google every quote from Fred Wadola, it is "nobody told me" "or I didn't know"

He said the same thing about Beemis. "Nobody ever said anything to me about Bemis".

It's getting old,and we need a new chairman.

And the committee chairman need to re-schedule their meetings that were canceled.

What exactly does Fred know? Not much it seems.

Fred's a moron - he always was. You don't have to be exceptionally bright to be a teacher or a principal (or the president of the United States). I've witnessed Fred as chairman - he has no idea what he's doing. I love the quotes the previous posters are saying - "I didn't know", "Nobody told me" - that's because his head is up his own ass (and maybe Hein's too at times). Sadly, the Republicans really have no one who's bright enough to do the job. Unfortunately, the Dems have several people who could do the job, but they're in the minority...because most of the county's voters are as bright as Fred.

Clearly Fred needs his nap time and his colleagues in the legislature have not developed the "what to do when Fred is tired" strategy. More important still is the "what to do when Fred falls asleep in the middle of a sentence" strategy.

How is any of this a surprise to anyone who has paid attention to his career over the years?

If there is a way to do less work and sleep more on government time, Fred will figure it out.

At this age, did anyone expect him to change?

Fred wins 30 to 0

Correct me if I am right - but I would not call that a losing vote.

And, Wadnola returns. Da da da daaaaaaaa.

I guess everyone wanted January off, because the vote was unanimous.

what a bunch of fucking idiots. Why did Bernardo let that crooked prick Gerentine talk her out of running?
They will regret this, they just rolled out a red carpet for a Hein reelection.

I have known Fred Wadnola for a very long time. He is a honest man. We are lucky to have him as Chairman of our County's Legislature. Everything that Peter Loughran said is true. He is a bi-partisan leader and a good guy. Good Luck Fred!

Anonymous said...

Peter Loughran, really? I should take advice from someone who is in his mid 50's and has never held a steady job? No thanks.

If you think Fred is such a good guy, you do not know him or have never dealt with him. He is sneaky, underhanded, spiteful, and very, very selfish.

Thank you Fred and Peter for giving Hein a free ride this year.

Fred might not be the answer but lets be real there is NO legislator there who is real bright. Bernardo is dumber than a box of rocks and just a mouthpiece for the little guy who wants to be important some day her husband

Couldn't have said it better myself, friend.

He is a gutless weasel with NO sense of L O Y A L T Y or how to do what is right.

NOT a stand-up guy -
gutless, cowardly & politically stupid.

He lies to yr face & does what is politically expedient for him & his other gutless friends.

HIS DAY IS COMING !! THAT is a promise from one he has wronged !!!

You have got to be kidding me right? Terry is smarter than Wadnola, give me a break.

Anonymous said...

Jeremy, saying that Terry Bernardo is smarter than Fred Wadnola is not a huge compliment. It's not difficult to be smarter than Fred Wadnola.

Anonymous said...

It is like saying which is smarter, rocks or stones?

Interesting the kinder, gentler legislature lasted less than 24 hours which is almost as much notice as everyone is getting to attend a "hurry up" Friday meeting. Despite debate that insufficient public notice has been given, the faithless Wadnola followers are pushing through an unpublished resolution with unknown Standing Committee appointments. Hurry before Freddy goes on vacation.

I once heard Mike Berardi say the Fred Wadnola is either really smart or really stupid. It tells you all you need to know about both of them!

Anonymous said...

These blogs are great Blaber won't print anything against Bernardo, MOJO won't print anything about Saugerties

Hey. I hear a prominent Democrat is about to announce his candidacy for District Attorney and the support of 3-4 towns. And Its not Sennett or Bradley.

Jeremy Blaber said...

Who? e-mail me a name, I want to know, thanks. jeremyblaber@yahoo.com. I promise anonymity. I don't know what three towns this person has but Jon Sennett is going to be the candidate as far as I am concerned, assuming he is running.

Anonymous said...

Calm down Jeremy, Sennett will be our candidate. He has earned it and demonstrated without a shadow of a doubt, he is a solid, honest, hardworking Democrat. We need more like him.

I hate this arrogant fuck.

Bernardo is exceptionally bright and it's too bad she couldn't muster the support of the legislature to replace Freddy. Unfortunately blood is thicker than water and cousin Freddy got in again. Too bad for the Repubicans when they will have to suffer the disgrace of Auerbach taking him down when his second audit report comes out.
