Kevin Buso hasn't been in Kingston long enough to give directions to the nursing home let alone be on a board of...oh wait...that campaign has more "managers" than kinkos.

Good close the nursing home and save all the taxpayers some money.

One Manager. Two Committe Co-Chairs.

It's not that hard to figure out.

This is county politics not City. Clement, Gallo, Cahill and Turco-levin all have opinions on this issue. However, none of them has a vote. Doesn't matter what they think.

Privatizing Golden Hill will not reduce the work force that much.
What it will do is take 480 or more employees salaries plus benefits off the County payroll, which will help all taxpayers in Ulster County.
The residents of Golden Hill would not notice a differences, other than they will probably have more activities added, which would make them more comfortable in their final years of life. This is just the workers wanting to keep their benefits, that are hurting all of us taxpayers.I say don't close, but do PRIVATIZE!

At the very least 6:55 pm Clement should know the baggage of his managers that represent him. If one of his campaign managers is on the board that is lobbying to close or sell off the Golden Hill property then he should replace him/her asap because it clearly is a conflict of interest. How can Clement attend rallies and protests, submit memorializing resolutions lending support from the City Common Council to keep the facility open when his very own campaign managers are going in the other direction. WTF is up with that?

Hayes Clement is trying so hard to score brownie points. It is not going to work for you Mr. clement so go home.

How many campaign managers does Clement have??? I heard former police officer Scott Herrington was running his campaign. Does anyone know for sure what the truth is? There's a lot of rumors floating about Clement @ his campaign. Makes me suspect. I think I'll stick with home-grown Gallo!

First of all, 8:37, there are approx 380 employees (not 480+) at Golden Hill Health Care Center. Second, if you think activities would be increased under privatization, you're delusional. ALL services would be DECREASED in order to improve the bottom line. Private facilities spend less $$ by cutting staff, nurses, even basic care supplies. I have heard incidents of residents having to share things like soap, towels and washcloths. At one well-known (reputable) private, local nursing home, a family was actually paying the staff on the side just to keep their family member's face and hands washed! That level of care is simply not acceptable!

Andi!ducking a debate disgraceful nothing but fluff! and so will Hayes!

Privitization of health care facilities is an absurd archaic concept. The health care of this nation is dependent upon government subsidy.Private facilities receive government funds but do not return proportionate profit. We own Golden Hill;it is an excellent facility.Repair and maintain it;expand it.It is time for the government to expend energy on economic development not on the destruction of what works and serves humanity.Stop listening to those who have no expertise or have a private agenda. The days of insignificant studies are over. The american citizen receives very little for his tax dollar and there are those who now wish to take his assets.

Oh there is a full list of Campaign Managers because this guy can't stand on his own two feet:

There is Tom Hoffay,Frank Cardinale, Kevin Quality, Kevin Boso, Scott Harrington, Ken Brett, Anna Brett (she advises Hayes and serves on the board of the league of women voter's that has taken a strong position on the need to privatize Golden Hill...list goes on and on.

Questions to ask is what's in it for Hoffay, Cardinale, Kevin Quilty (not Quality), Boso, Harrington and Bretts? Maybe a promise of a job for all of them? Quilty may need one because he priced himself out of the printing business. Now he is an expert on economic development because he serves as president of the Uptown Business Association and was in favor of renovating the Pike Plan. Now look at the mess it's in. Who's going to pay for the overruns? Way to go Kevin!!!

What Clement, Gallo, Turco, Palacco, Cahill and others should be looking at is the potential for tax revenue if Golden Hill is sold to a private entity. I would estimate that GHCC would be in the top 10 properties in Kingston if it were in private hands.

That is how you build a city, you build the tax base, and use the revenue to reduce taxes or reinvest in the city's infrastructure.

All this fear mongering about closing GHCC is ridiculous. No one is closing it and if anything, services will be expanded and modernized to 21st century requirements.

The county mismanaging the facility does not mean there is not profit there as is, for a private concern. Management is everything. Hein and the legislature are afraid to address the real issues there, performance of staff and overall management.
Ulster County government is a cesspool of nepotism and favoritism. Time to clean it up and see what happens then.

Is it true that Independence party petition signatures for HC were gathered illegally?

There is no private health care in the U.S. It is all subsidized by the tax and by the afflicted individual.Privitisation simply shifts the flow of revenue from the system to the entrepreneur. The application of corporate managerial skills to health care has resulted in a poor health care system and huge profits for the insurance industry. The business model is not applicable;as` it is simply profit driven.

If the Petition things holds tue it would be a shoe in for Gallo.
