Blaber News Poll : Ulster Supervisor Race

The Ulster Supervisor Race is looking like it will be an interesting one. Supervisor Woerner is being challenged by gadfly Don Wise who has run for every office under the sun. However, Wise has the name recognition and the GOP enrollment still reigns supreme in that town. Woerner has a true record of accomplishment to bring fourth to voters having lowered town taxes, increasing services and handling quality of life issues in the town.

The poll is now closed thanks to all who participated.

LOL I guess your sorry you put this up to a vote.

Woerner has done a good job, Wise should stick to tarring roofs. Just like everyone knows that George Bush is too stupid to run the country, and his daddy does, Don's Mom will be really running the Town if he gets elected. Nicky is his own man, and the best Supervisor this town has seen in 30+ years. Remember, 40% of Republicans voted for him at their caucus recently. If we can extrapolate that data to reflect the general election, then two things can be derived. First, Nicky wins in a landslide, and second, Jeremy's unscientific poll is just that, unscientific.

(Cal the Conservative)

ps Isn't it ironic, don't you think, that Nicky has the conservative endorsement, yet Wise is a registered Conservative, running as a Republican, to which Nicky, as a Democrat, almost got the nomination.

Wow! what if this poll is even a little true? Supervisor Wise!

I believe the true test of the Conservative Party support for Supervisor Zweben, I mean Woerner will be the amount of votes received on the Conservative Line in November. As to who is currently running the Town of Ulster one only has to see who Nicky runs to with questions.

The tarring Don Wise will do, will be done on election day. Nicky will understand he should have studied harder to be an Undertaker.

I see you are trying to get the bad news for boy Nickie off the top of your page.

His mother when she was Dep. Supervisor pinched a town of Ulster officer's ass and the officer filled suit...to date it has cost the town over 200k !!!!

Anonymous said...

And what does that mean? Don is going to pinch someones ass too?

Anonymous said...

So how much is that officier's ass going to cost the Town of Ulster taxpayers this year? I bet it is close to $200k with salary, benefits and a fulltime car.

Don Wise will run Ulster into bankruptcy, just like he did himself.

A vote for Wise is a vote for higher taxes to offset junk bond status.

Supervisor Woerner has performed his duties worthy of re-election. Don Wise is a good man, as one of the previous posters noted Mr. Wise's current profession of roofing, I can attest to the high quality of work he and his company performs. I would recommend to anyone in the area to consider APEX for their needs.

Regardless, I'm "Stick'n with Nick" because he has lowered my taxes while continuing the services we depend on. With recently settled contracts, those who provide the invaluable services can focus on their jobs and not be distracted with contract negotiations, etc. Business continues to expend here in Ulster. For the first time in nearly 15 years, things are looking positive for the former IBM site, with the news on the Solar project I've been reading the Freeman. Growth along 9W continues, with several new businesses recently opened or planned. It's not broke here in Ulster, folks, so why fix it?

I do have an opinion on the term of office for Supervisor. In my opinion, it should be 4 years. 2 years is too soon to hold an election. Having an election every 2 years calls for endless campaigning. The Supervisor, whoever he or she is, needs adequate time to perform their duties, and 2 years is not enough in my opinion.

Stick with Nick.... I like it.

"because he has lowered my taxes" Oh really? Where exactly do you live in Ulster?

Nick has "lowered taxes" by dipping into the reserves. He's working on depletng the town's fund balance much the same as TR Gallo did in Kingston. When the next chief executive takes the helm, (s)he will inherit a financial mess. That new person will have to raise taxes (like Sottile) and everyone will blame that current administration. It's all smoke and mirrors - there's no way to cut taxes without cutting services. And all that growth along 9W (which looks like Rt. 17 in New Jersey, South Road in Poughkeepsie, and every other over-developed area in the country) started long before Nick. What deals (aka kickbacks) did NickAlAndy make with the new developers? When Ulster puts up an honest and intelligent candidate, 4 years would be fine. Until then, Nick can do a lot of damage in 4 years.

To the person who asked me why their las two posts were rejected : I rejected them due to the language in them...feel free to re-post without profanity and I'll happily publish it...whatever the opinion may be.

I think this is a real waste of time. Goons like Jim Quiqley and Paul Kesick Have nothing better to do than sit around and post nonsense. Or how about that slick haird Pete Savago clon "Super Mario" Catalano. I think that they are all under estimating the power of Nickie Woerner. It's not Al Spada or Andy Zwebeen running the Town it's Nickie. They all work for him. People under estimate him but remember Woerner's grandfather, back in the day he was more powerful than the mayor and even Al Spada. Nick has what it take, he plays it very close to the vest. Watch out for Nick because he is our next assemblyman / senator. And that won't be a bad thing.

Blaber and Woerner are two political heavy-weights

I think that it is very funny that my name was mentioned. i have been on vacation with a democrat (believe it or not!) I haven't been near a computer. I am not a goon and if I have something to say i will put my name on it and will not hide.

I would like to comment on the fact that it is OK for Blaber to post his high praise for Nick but when other people say things against him, it is a waste of time. Double standard.

As for Senator or Assemblyman he could never, ever beat Bonacic or Cahill.

Nick has 20 months as supervisor under his belt. His first real job as far as I know. He lives with his mother and does not pay property taxes. He needs to learn what it is like to be a man before he sets his sights on a higher office.

Jeremy Blaber said...

I have posted all comments and never stated it was a waste of time to criticize either way... I even posted your slanderous comments about Supervisor Woerner... who as a friend of his, and a person that I respect and admire, I can tell you that he does indeed have the mentality to hold higher office. This state would be served well with Nick in Albany whether it be in the Senate or Assembly. Mr. Woerner is way beyond his years.

Anonymous said...

Jeremy, Get over yourself. The comment was not directed at you. it was directed at an earlier post. This is the first sentence of that earlier post.

Anonymous said...

I think this is a real waste of time.

Nick does not have the mentality to hold higher office. For Christ sake, we all know he doesn't even have the decency to return phone calls. That alone, is enough to throw him out of office, let alone to NOT promote him to a state level position. The only way Nick is "beyond his years" is with his waistline and fund raising. Otherwise, he has a lot to learn.

To Cal the conservative.

Werenr has the endorsement because he gave the Ulster Conservative Party Chairman the chairmanship of the zoning board, plain and simple.

A conservative as chairman of the zoning board. With a Democratic controlled town board. Look up what conservatives think about zoning. It differs greatly from what Democrats SHOULD be doing to protect our environment from run away development. Talk about selling out for votes.

To Blaber

Where is your righteous indignation of Democratic values on this? You have been spewing for weeks about Bradley, where are you on this which has been ongoing for 18 months? Hypoctire!

Anonymous said...

This gets worse every day! Are there that any people who like Don Wise?
How do you explain these results Jeremy? How does this poll work?

Anonymous said...

To 720AM

Why are you so surprised at the results. The ratio has remained 3 to 1 from the beginning.

While the only poll that really counts is in Novemeber 2007. Does't these results tell you something?

Regardless of the ratio of the votes as, the Republican. Caucus proved, the "Emperor has no clothes". Those that surround him only sing his praise.

pathetic what nickie is doing in ulster with is lawsuit against the petitions. what a disgusting person he is. a true scumbag. he has no morals. his gay little friend Zweben pulls him right along down the road of scumbagedness and he willingly goes. i used to like nickie and thought he had a future. i was right about one thing, he does have a future, as a scumbag politician that is.

Anonymous said...

Jeremy - what were the final numbers?

Anonymous said...

It is interesting that you #1 advertised that there was a poll with a slanted commentary introducing it and then anounce the poll is now closed without the closing date being announced and futher that you fail to announce the final score... Something like 225 for WISE and 75 for Nick which is 75% WISE and 25% Nick. Were this a national election all the morning newspaper headliners would say "Woerner Trounced, a real Looser" or maybe "Ulster Residents have Made the WISE CHoice"

Anonymous said...

Wise 80%
Woerner 20%

Bye Bye Nickie!
