Future County Exec Mike Hein, Legislator Brian Shapiro and Julia Walsh at an event at the hickory BBQ-- marking the end of the Democratic primaries.

Thanks to Stephan Gilman for sending me the picture.

Is your calling Hein the future county executive the same as Hillary's guy introducing her last night as the next president of the United States?

It looks like Brian Shapiro is "flipping the bird!"

Bernardo got the Conservative nomination according to multiple sources today. Why not a post on that?

Bet Steve Aaron and Spada and the good old boys are nervous now.

I did not hear that. What's the big deal? Bernardo got a line that Hein did not even seek...

Quigley got the Conservative endorsement too

I don't remember the Conservative party holding a caucus to make these endorsements. So I am not sure that the information is accurate.

It's accurate. Everyone at the Ulster County Ways and Means meeting was talking about it tonight.

Has anyone really looked at the Conservative Party platform?
Its not something a Democrat should be seeking.
The Conservatives are to the right of the Republicans on most issues. You cant get more out-of-touch with the UC voters than that.

3,000 votes were cast on the Conservative line last year for D.A.

1400 on Working Families

Conservative Endorsement: We sent you the Chair's phone number to confirm announcement yesterday at 4:00pm. It's a good Blog, please don't start filtering facts. Thanks,
"Friends For Bernardo".

I agree. Democrats should not seek the Conservative endorsement ever.

If I was standing next to Julia Walsh, I'd be "flipping the bird," too.

The fact that he did not get the conservative nomination is only a positive.

It also rebuts the predictions of so many regarding his inside track on that nomination and his connections to the old republican guard.

But Hein/Quigley sounds a whole lot more balanced and better for Ulster County than Hein/Auerbach . . .

"What's the beig deal? Bernardo got a line that Hein didn't seek"...?? MidHudsonNews.com is reporting today that Bonnie Hewitt said "the committee interviewed both candidates". Who's wrong here?

Jeremy Blaber said...

7:11 AM: That's unfair, Vince Bradley ran on only the Independence and Conservative lines, so of course he took in more votes than the WF line. Both lines are good for about 1800-2000 a piece.

8:20 AM - never got it, I am waiting for a press release.

Jeremy, Did Hein seek the Conservative line or not? You said he didn't, Mid-Hudson News reports that Bonnie Hewitt says he did. We want to know. Did Michael seek the Conservative line or not.

Jeremy Blaber said...

Mike Hein did NOT seek the line. The story on MidHudsonNews is inaccurate.

Are you sure that you are right Jeremy. I can't believe that Mike would intereview with the Conservatives either. But for someone who didn't interview with the Conservative Party, they certainly had a lot to say about him at MidHudsonNews.

Chairwoman Bonnie Hewitt said Bernardo was “head and shoulders more conservative” than his opponent, Democrat Michael Hein.

“We were very impressed with his credentials and his philosophies and what his plan was,” she told MidHudsonNews.com.

Hewitt said the committee interviewed both candidates.

The Conservative Nod is a Major Blow to the Hein Machine. This line was "locked up". The fact is that once Zimet left the race, they turned their backs on the Democratic Committee and lost support on many fronts. The Hein Machine doesn't share and will be a lonely island by September. The momentum is changing towards an Independant Candidate that is more friendly to Democrats than Hein.
