Cahill and Walker's Honeymoon Period Appartently Over

Richard Cahill and Lenny Walker's arranged political marriage by convenience seems to be having it's troubles. Cahill and Walker brought together by their dislike for Mayor Jim Sottile and both of them desperately wanting to seek higher office, it was only a matter of time before things came to a boiling point. Apparently, Alderman Walker did not take to kindly to a $25 contribution from Clifford Miller, the bank president that was caught last year allegedly soliciting a prostitute on Broadway. When Mr. Cahill heard that someone was making an issue of this completely legitimate contribution, from a person that despite this small mistake is a stand-up guy, he responded "What imbecile would make an issue out of this?" Only to find out it was his running mate. Alderman Walker, who shares a campaign account with Cahill, went further to say that if the contribution was not returned that he could not have anything more to do with Cahill's campaign.

The funny thing is that we all could see this coming, and trust me this is not the end of the antics that we will see from the Cahill/Walker duo. The fact of the matter is that the contribution is not that big of a deal, but Cahill is teamed up with a person that craves attention and can't help but spout his mouth off. As someone looking at this in an impartial manner, I would say the best thing Richard Cahill can do from is keep the contribution and let Walker part ways with the campaign. There is no question that Walker has already done damage and will continue to do damage to a campaign that most say was doomed from day one. However, as a Democrat, and Sottile supporter, I think Cahill should stay with Walker so we can watch their campaign self destruct. Not for nothing, it's pretty humorous to watch them together, they were made for one another.

I haven't seen this in the papers. What's your source of info on this one?

I know that officially Cahill and Walker are a team, and have to act like they really want to run as a team. But......Cahill had absolutely no input in Walker running for Alderman-at-Large. Politically, Cahill can't say that, but, he probably wasn't thrilled himself. And...unlike other offices, like President and VP, Governor and Lt. Gov., voters vote for Mayor and Alderman-at-Large separately, so as I will, you can vote for Cahill and Jim Noble. You are not locked into Walker if you vote for Cahill. Now, even though I know that, many voters probably don't. As a poll worker, there are many things one assumes the average person knows about voting, and guess what, they don't. So, ultimately that may and most likely will hurt Cahill, as he cannot in good political language say too loudly, a vote for me is not a vote for Lenny. And....many bloggers, either innocently or purposely (like this post) seem to at least insinuate you have to vote for each, as a "team." So...I decided to clear it up for at least those who read this.

My source wished to maintain anonymous... well if the paper did not pick this up yet, I guess you can call it a Blaber's News exclusive. ;)

Nothing short of two major brain transplants and personality implants could prepare these two gentlemen to lead or guide this city. I don't dislike either of them but I can't see anything other than delusional contradictory promises that they offer... Case in point, tax cuts as well as increased services.... can anyone with an ounce of common sense explain that Madison Ave Manure... I'LL GIVE YOU MORE AND CHARGE YOU LESS...SUUUUUURE!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Jeremy- to refer to yourself as impartial is ludicrous. You are the Mayor's boy. You are very partial; you spend your time spinning for the Mayor and we all know it.

As to the anonymous source: news flash- others who wish to remain unnamed have said the Mayor did Win a favor by not puting meters on John. A more pausible explanation than the "oversight" spin.

Another source says the crime stats are being cooked to make it look like crime is down. Another says that some our elected officials are drunks and drug users. Another says the Mayor is only running because he didn't get the appointment from Spitzer he had his heart set on. (Maybe because he publicly endorsed Pataki for Govenor. You know how unforgiving those Dems can be)

You call these "rumors" since noone will come forward for fear of retaliation form this Administration. You belittle and demean this type of "reporting" when it is not favorable to your gang. Now you claim to have the "news" when it suits you. So sad.

Jeremy Blaber said...

The rumors claiming that Alderman are on drugs is just crazy and of course not true. Matt Ryan saying that the police department cooks it's books is just plain insulting so no I don't print all the crazy things I hear. However, this story is true, and if it makes you feel better the freeman ran a story on it today.

Anonymous 2:15,

Target, "Expect More, Pay Less". You've never heard that before? It's about EFFICIENCY.

So, a man promises tax cuts, SOMETHING we all complain about, and because he is not Sottile, you immediately dismiss him? I bet if it were Sottile, talking tax cuts, you'd all be 'alright, he can do it'.

Here is the republican strength, our core belief is in smaller government. That's why we were angry with many R's in the last election, many strayed from that core, including Bush. Other than that, we can agree or not agree on a host of social issues, but still feel a sense of unity. Democrats, you GOT TO FOLLOW like sheep on all social and economic issues. otherwise, you are not a 'true' or 'good' democrat. DiBella attacked Lenny for not following the line a year or 2 back.

Anonymous said...

Jeremy,
Matt didn't say the police cooked the books. I said it has happened elsewhere, and raised the question as to whether it has here. Some in this City say it is true. Who really knows?

Matt Ryan has also suggested in letter's to the editor in various local publications that the KPD could cook the books. However, it does not surprise me that you would suggest the same thing. I know the level of integrity that Jerry Keller runs the KPD with so there is no doubt in my mind that everything is on the up and up.

Fact - there was a a serious fight Memoril Day weekend in Midtown. Numerous individuals were put in police cars several times during this incident. There was no incident report on record. If the police take people into the squad cars and there is no incident report - it is a dangerous practice on many levels.

I know the police are doing their best. My grandfather was a detective in NYC until he died. One of my uncles and a couple of my cousins were police officers all now retired. I have the utmost respect for the rank and file, who do their best to keep us safe and to solve crimes.

Many police from many cities and towns admit, in private, that politics influence their depts. and not always in a positive way.

An incident report can label a crime at its highest violation or at its lowest. If the powers that be insist there is little crime, they put tremendous pressure on the police to "prove" that. This puts the police at greater risk when those same stats are used to "prove" need more police are not needed. Forces them to work over-time to make up for the lack of officers. 10% of our police force is currently unable to perform their duties.

I do appreciate you clarifying your first statement - Matt never said they COOKED the books. He said they could, not that they DID. And they can. Crime statistics HAVE been manipulated elsewhere. Again, I say who really knows?
Amy Murphy

As for statistics, it is a nice course to take in college or high school, but in the real world, not much good. Our federal govt tells me that there is no inflation, yet, every time I go to buy something, it costs more than the last time. ARod is having a great year this year, but last year, his stats said he was an MVP. But...if you watched the games last year, you knew the stats did not reflect the clutch hits he didn't get. People use stats to support or refute their position, but that's all they do. As I said before, open the eyes, look at Midtown, no stats needed. Yet before the latest wild west scenario in Midtown, the spinners told us how Cahill just exagerates the crime.

The issue about Richard Cahill Jr is this: he does not truly respect women. Have a conversation, or try, and he does not look you in the eye. I have been told my close friends within the city Rep party that one night Phil Cosme started yelling and pointing his finger at Ms. Jacobs, the chair of the party and yelling at her. Little Cahill allowed this, did not defend her, and in fact agreed to remove someone from the room who was allowed to be there, but Cosme didn't want the person present.

Mr. Cahill may be married, but he does not value the thoughts of women. Therefore................

I am not surprised he would pick a running mate who is a womanizer.

Anonymous said...

Lenny Walker wants to come off acting like he is holier than thou. It is an act..........it is well known among the inner sanctum of both city parties that Walker chased away three single mothers who joined the Guardian Angels because he hit on them. In fact, it was reported to Curtis Sliwa.

Walker likes to use his perceived sense of power to offer to help single mothers.......whether it is help with their children, offers of money.........he followed one woman after a G.A. meeting one night...and this poor gal quit immediately.

He is akin to Clinton.

Anonymous said...

Walker is right on this one...don't complain about crime and then take money from someone convicted of a recent crime. The Freeman was wrong to pick on Cosme on this one........but Cahill had the same obnoxious attitude about this campaign issue back when Kevin Costello was running for sheriff. He thought it was totally fine that Costello was being supported by Swim King...who had ripped off more people and hurt them. You can't have it both ways.

I don't think even a major brain transplant would help. They are both idiots and hopefully will never be given the chance to run the City. I think anyone who votes for them might benefit from a brain transplant as well. Watch their tv shows on Monday night and you'll see what I mean. The shows belong on Comedy central.

I heard Matt Ryan and his partner Joe Morkes got into a huge fight over Matt fooling around on him. Apparently Mr.Ryan was caught cheating on him with some guy at the flow bar. Joe threw all of Ryan's clothes on the lawn. Not someone that should be an elected Alderman. We do not need that kind of chaos in our ward.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, Matt, it's true. it's also true that you go to the Bank of America everyday and harass Shirley and everyone else at the bank. They all hate you there and make fun of your desperate behavior behind you back. Is it true you invited people at the bank to your fund-raiser at the basement how low can you go.

Anonymous said...

Hey if Ryan banks there he can go to his bank as often as he wants it's a free world and I think banks work for their customers don,t they and shirley is the window teller at that bank-right? so whats your point? and if he did invite them to his fundraiser so what? their in his ward too....so???. and just between you and me some of them showed up at his fundraiser and they made fun of Shirley. and how do I know I work there too.

Anonymous said...

Isn,t bank of America a public place last time I checked anybody with an account can go there-dumb s--- and who cares what the employees think of us, their the ones with the low paying jobs not us deal with it. and besides who cares what low life lackys think anyway.

I believe if Mr. Ryan harassed Mrs Whitlock as you say everyday at the bank that he belongs to and she works at that the bank would either ask him or her to leave so again this is a vile and dishonest person spreading these vicious lies about two very good people. It,s probably the blog master himself Jeremy Blaber mouth yet another blaber blunder.

10:07pm I did not say that and I do not feel that way towards Mr. Ryan may the best person win the upcoming election and may the people get what they truely deserve bless God in his name.

WOW! What a revelation, sorry bub, but when you run for Alderman cheating on your spouse is fair game. Typical GOP hypocrite. The only thing better would be if Ryan was cheating on Joe with a b-way prostitute. LOL!!

I hope ryan takes you to court for slander remarks Jeremy now your telling lies and signing his name to them you should be taken off the internet and this blog site closed down permently I am a lawyer and I will gladly offer my services to him he,s a good family man and he has never cheated on anybody you are a vile dishonest persn Jeremy and when Sottile loses the election hopefully you,ll go away for good.

Anonymous said...

It's apparent in law school that they didn't teach you the proper way to formulate a sentence. Who says Blaber wrote the comments? It seems to me Mr.Ryan wrote them and that you can't accept the fact that your candidate made a mistake. The only one guilty of slander my friend is you. Mr. Blaber is a stand up guy who provides a valuable service via this blog.

Anonymous said...

BTW- Sottile will not lose this election!

Anonymous said...

I really question 448's legal analysis. First, it's nearly impossibale to prove who wrote the comment and I don't see Mr.Ryan denying that he himself wrote it. I'm not from the area but I follow this blog pretty regularly and it's my understanding that Mr.Ryan is running for public office, it's very hard to prove a libel case and even harder when the person is running for public office.
Mr. Ryan is considered a public figure and he would have to establish malice, in other words the attempt to harm...which is extremely hard to say the least.
And, again, who wrote the comment? It looks like Mr.Ryan himself wrote it. Nothing I love more then internet lawyers.

I live next door to Matthew Ryan. No clothes were ever thrown on the lawn. Whoever is writing these things is fabricating stories. Again the low life political games are being played.

How scared can you be that he will win? Petty, silly children.

Anonymous said...

isn,t this site suppose to be about Walker and Cahill anyway who cares about any of this petty stuff did I push the wrong botton or somethingpd hicks thst live in this town make me sick with this sort of he said she said lies and untruths mean while people are getting shot at and stabbed on our own streets while you sit around and make up stories about nice people who are trying to make a change for the better just pathetic.

Anonymous said...

I see both Blabers don't know the difference between "then" and "than".

Anonymous said...

Bottom line is, all this over $25?

At least Cahill or Walker didn't get into a shoving match with a woman. What a tough guy that Sottile is.

Cahill could get a $1.98 donation from the Gotti family and still not be a woman beater.

I can't believe ANYONE would still support Sottile after that.

JoeyB said...

SERIOUSLY, Jeremy, you have the ability to block or pass posts. OPINIONS, regardless of how far left or right are fine and typically benign ("sticks and stones..."), wouldn't you agree? But posting attacks, ie. someone is cheating in a relationship, or harassing someone.. Jeremy, this is not 'OPINION'. This is slander. Please mind what you pass to 'print'. I know the law favors on the side of the host, but when the host reserves the right to post or not post, he/she are in a real grey area.

IMHO, you should require registration. Yes, the simple minded will shy away, but we may have a return to orderly conduct without those simpleminds HIDING behind anonymous. The freeman did it years ago.

Anonymous said...

Who's Reginald Blaber esq? is that Jeremys drag name when he works the prime time bar as a female impressionator?

Anonymous said...

I just spoke with Matt Ryan personally. He did NOT write the posting with his name attached. There was no argument with his partner.

You people ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Can't you come up with legitimate reasons to support your positions?

Anonymous said...

If the people making up these stories had enough decency to feel shame, they would never have written this garbage. There was no fight. Ryan didn't write that comment.

The sad thing is the odds are the writers are "loyal" Democrats. The same ones who hollered - righfully so- at the same lowlife antics pulled by some Republicans during the national election.

Not only are they devoid of decency, intergrity and intelligence, they're hypocrites.

Let's clear the record right now. Cliff Miller was NOT convicted of Patronizing a Prostitute. He denied this charge and agreed to plea to disorderly conduct to put an end to it and spare his family from further embarrassment.

Noone has seen the evidence against Cliff Miller except the Police, The Prosecutor, and Cliff's attorney. Obviously, the Prosecutor thought so little of the evidence that he agreed to reduce the charge.

I've known Cliff Miller for over 40 years. He is a good man and a good friend. He may have done something wrong, but he is still a good man.

I thought Mr. Cahill hit the nail on the head last week on his show. He pointed out that the Freeman only had 3 stories about the young man killed in Midtown. Yet, there 5 or 6 articles about Cliff.

Enough is enough!! If you want to hit Cahill, fine-- he's a candidate. But leave Cliff Miller alone. He's suffered enough.

Anonymous said...

Poor Millionaire Miller. No sympathy here. He was caught with his pants down, literally. He will be subject to public humiliation for the rest of his life. He chose to solicit a hooker. His choice so he suffers the consequences. My parents always told me you are judged by the company you keep. So be it.

I have much sympathy for Mr. Miller's family. As far as the law is concerned, he paid his debt. He is still a citizen, a voter and has the right to contribute to any politician's campaign.

If Sottile printed the minor contributors funding his race, I'll wager there would be some who had unfavorable run ins with the law. He can't protect everyone, though he probably tries and succeeds much too often.
