SENNETT, SOTTILE, and NOBLE TOP STRAW POLLS

The blog Kingston Truth held a few polls on some local races in Kingston and the results are in, after five days of voting Sennett, Sottile, and Noble emerged victorious in their individual races for office, respectively. If the polls are accurate Noble is a pretty strong candidate trouncing Walker with over 70% of the vote! Sottile also did well, easily beating out Cahill by a more then 2 to 1. The race for D.A. was even more interesting with Sennett emerging victorious in a 3-way race where the Independence candidate did better then the Republican! You can look at the full results at Abe's Website----> Kingston Truth

The poll is not scientific but it was conducted in a fair manner and people were given several days to vote for their choice. Apparently, the choice is clear : Sennett, Sottile, and Noble.

Not scientific, bogus is more like it. It's more like asking a group in a downtown Greenbay Bar who your favorite NFL team is ? Then you happily conclude,Woh!!! The packers win again....Comeon get real......smitty

Sennett again comes out on top!

The difference is that all NY teams are playing and the people picked the best ones. Got it, stop being so cynical.

You know I want to know who Matt Ryan is supporting for D.A. and Shirley Whitlock. Based on their answers I know who I'll vote for. I may not vote for Mayor because of who Sottile is supporting. I know that Matthew comes on this blog, I would like an answer from both of them. It would mean a lot to me. I am a voter in Ward 4, I live on Fair st. I watched Matthew's show and he supports Chief Keller's plan, so I think he supports Sennett who's plan is similar but I would like a straight answer. I tried to get through Monday but couldn't.

It's easy to see that Jon Sennett is the smart one for UC DA.I mean, who wants the "dumb guy?"

Not only is the poll unscientific because those polled were self-selected, it's sampling is so small it means nothing. However, this result seems the likely outcome by the polls that matter on election day, except the margin of victory for Sennett over Bradley Junior will be 5-8 points higher.

You forgot a couple! what happened to the poll with your boy Nick Werner? He didn't do too good ---- AGAIN! There was one other poll on there too right? Hmmmm, let me think for a minute---- what was that one again? Oh Yes, Blaber vs Honest Abe. How did that one turn out? Honest Abe kicked your butt!

Amazing, no mention of the Woerner - Wise poll. The second poll in a row the little Nick lost.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, does it make noise?

OK Joeyb, new blog, let's get down to ideas,do you view our nation as a representative republic or a democracy? If a republic, then how do you justify ethically, giving up your vote to me to decide what is good for you?How do you justify the theocratic plank ethically? And only if you can answer that without using theology.Ethics based on theology are worthless.Ideas remember? No dogma!

Dear 5:33am
I support Mr.Sennett he has attended several of our Midtown Neighborhood Watch meetings in the last few months, He realizes the importance of these groups and the reaction it has when they see him actively taking part in our community.
He has listened to the people of the Fourth Ward and has a good idea of what their views and opinions are, the other canidates have not attended our meeting which shows that he is truly concerned and committed in hearing and doing what his constitutes in Midtown want, and as you know most of these people are smack dab in the heart of the worst crime problem in the City. Even though Mr. Blaber does not think the Neighborhood Watch Groups do anything and are just political fodder(look who's talking) and feels there is no crime problem in Midtown and claims that this is just a passing crime spurt and swears we do not need to hire more police which conterdicts what our police chief has recently expressed and our new Ulster County Sheriff has publicly stated and the police union it's self has also confirmed the need for the hiring of more police for the City of Kingston.

Not sure if it's right to highjack JB's thread here, outright, but I'll give it a go, for everyone's 'enjoyment' :-)

I Don't get it, when have I ever used dogma? I try to use logic in my arguments. My thinking is that 2 + 2 IS 4, not maybe 4 or 5, depending on how you look at it, such is the progressive's view. You may say, one can't look at the work in black and white, but I think if one's world is THAT grey, how can you tell from hright and wrong.

Socially, I am more moderate than you think. But I still hold true that in order to belong to a society, one must give up certain 'natural' rights for the good of society, In other words, JUST because you can do it, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it. Hey, it's completely natural to take a crap outside, but you don't (I hope). Why not?

That boils right down to a neighborhood. Sure, it's your taxpaying GD right to let your grass grow to your knees, but should you?

How'd Clint Brown fare?

When a political poll is conducted on a Democratic website that is not a random sample. Remember your statistics Course. To call it BOGUS is not cynical its just plain realistic.....smitty

I think the election will reflect this poll.

Is that you citizen dave?

Listen, I am much more concerned with local issues. Who cares what I believe on a federal level? Go to dailykos if you want to rant on about the federal government. Stay here on Blaber News if you want to talk about how group homes for ex-cons are good for Kingston. Or how people, like Matt Ryan, who by example, want to clean up this city, are terrible heartless neocons. Or, defend a Mayor caught on video, and damn those who caught it. These things we can do here.

Or, the invitation is still open to have a beer. So long as it is at Mariners. I want any trouble caught on video. :->

Jeremy you fail to point out that not only did the Republican candidate lose to the independent/conservative candidate, but the independent also got a signifcant amount of the vote on a democratic blog! Not a good sign is it? Bigger concern is why did Mr. Sennett fair so poorly on a democratic blog? If the results are accurate, he received about two or three more votes than the independent candidate who will be pulling people from both sides of the aisle come November.

All politics are local. If you condone an unethical immoral republican party at one level then you're condoning it all.If your conservative views allow you to support a theocratic overthrow of our government, then technically you're a traitor.Watch CNN tomorrow night for an in-depth explanation of why the republican/conservatives have become so hated. My republican friends and family members would love to have their party back,as long as the theocratic plank was cut out and burned.I hear Mariner's is a rowdy place, people get slapped there, drinks thrown, what do they think it's a waterfront dive?

Matt,

I never said that Neighborhood watch programs were a bad thing..I think they're great! I also never said that there was not a crime problem. Kingston has crime like any other city it's size, I do however think you and others exaggerate the problem to your own benefit. Mr.Ryan I will give you credit for supporting Sennett, I have a newfound respect for you.

The poll was fair, and I don't necessarily think that Kingston Truth is a Democratic website. People should accept the results and move on..they're not scientific but I think the results are pretty accurate and will reflect the November election, except for the Supervisor race.

to 713am -- Abe beat me as the better blogger, that's fine, it does not bother me. I did not mention it becasue it had nothing to do with the point I was getting across... I'm not in a political race with Abe.
