Quote of the Week

“I’m a guy who grew up on Main Street; he’s a guy who grew up on Wall Street,” said Auerbach regarding his opponent. “Let’s take a look at that situation and let’s see where you would rather be. It’s crumbling and vaporizing right before our very eyes, and he’s part of that culture.”

- Elliott Auerbach, Chamber Debate for candidates for Exec and Comptroller

If I didn't know better, I would think he was running for County Executive.

THIS . . THIS IS THE TYPE OF CAMPAIGN AUERBACH NEEDS TO START RUNNING - NOW!!!!!!

Wall street is a mess. He needs to argue Quigley is a part of that. Lost pensions, lost profits, government bail outs . .. the wall street way . . .

Coming back, working hard, doing it by yourself . . . the Ulster County way . . . the Auerbach way.

Quigley is solely responsible for this financial mess. He made all these bad mortgages in the first place, drove up the price of oil with all this wild speculation, then last week, caused great financial harm to our markets by selling solid companies short, all the while making billions. Did you know who led Enron before Ken Lay?? None other than... Mr. Quigley! We estimate that by destroying our economy, Mr. Quigley has pocketed about 7.9 Trillion dollars. Now he wants to be our Comptroller???

I say NO WAY!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm sure you would, the Quigley people love to take things out of context. The question referred to how to invest the county's money, that is not the role of the comptroller. Mr.Auerbach gave a very humble answer, where Squigley beat around the bush and I think mumbled out that people should invest their money in government?????? Are you shitting me? Is this guy a Republican or a Democrat?
