Republican's Start to Lean Toward Auerbach

Even Republican's are starting to see the light and lean toward Elliott Auerbach for County Comptroller. People are recognizing that while Elliott may not share their party affiliation, he does share their vision for the office and is the most qualified for the job.

There is also the fact that Elliott's opponent does not seem to be taking much intrest in the job, while Auerbach is meeting as many people he can and spreading the word, that he wants to be their Watch Dog in County Government.

At least two of the Republican blogs have started to lean toward Elliott in the last week; here is an excerpt from the blog master of Kingston Kool Aid Factor, a far right blog:

In order to be an effective official, one must be involved in the community. I have not seen Quigley involved in much at all. Auerbach has been involved, and making a name for himself. Auerbach has shown an interest in this position, and it is one I cannot say Quigley has made.

I am officially supporting Auerbach from this point on. If Quigley had made some attempt to be involved in Kingston, I may not have come to this. The fact is Auerbach has shown he will be a part of Kingston.

We stand behind our comments Jeremy. Auerbach has been around the block this election season. People know his name. I like Quigley, but I cannot vote for him if he does not make himself known in Kingston. I can say I have only seen him a few times , and Auerbach is an everyday name now.

Unless there is a major turnaround out of the Quigley campaign which I believe will not happen, I will vote for Auerbach.

There are pictures, but Where Is Quigley. He needs to start meeting the public, which we have not seen.

There is a difference between being somewhere, and campaigning. Does he look like he really wants to be in some of those pictures? He stays very low key to the point where he is missed.

As much as I like and respect the Kingston Kool-Aid blog, I have to respectfully disagree with the assessment of the author.

The fact is, Jim Quigley has been campaigning, but he has been doing so on a Countywide level. The position of Comptroller is a County job, not a Kingston job. Any candidate who spends an inordinate anmount of time in Kingston ignores - by definition -much of the rest of the County. That would be highly disrespectful to the voters at large. One cannot tell voters all over the County "You are less important than the residents of Kingston."

The fact that - as the photos attest - Mr. Quigley is campaigning throughout the County and not concentrating on one locale shows that he is cognizant of just how Kingston-centric County politics has become and that this fact, like so much else in Ulster County, must change.

As for Mr. Auerbach, he has no choice but to campaign in Kingston. The people of Ellenville and Wawarsing already know him too well and are trying to survive his "management" of the Village of Ellenville. Some management. Even the fast food establishments have closed up shop.

Jim Quigley has the experience and record of success we need to set this County on sound financial footing. We don't need a politician who follows all the campaign formulas, turning the election into another example of business as usual. We need someone who says the way things have been done in the past - whether in campaigning or in Government - must be thrown out so we can start over, fresh.

That's exactly the person Jim Quigley is. That is why we need him as our County Comptroller.

I do not believe that Kingston is the only city in Ulster County. Do you? I believe their are over 20 city's, towns and villages in Ulster County? Correct me if I am wrong. Please!

Quigley forgot to register. Shame on you!

Jeremy, dream on!! Elliot Aurbach is as qualified for Comptroller, as I am to be Pope. Quigley will crush him in November because you are forgetting one major item. The people of Ulster County are not as stupid as you and your henchmen think they are. Quigley is the only qualified candidate, has a CPA, and a Masters in Finance. The voters, I am confident , will select the most qualified candidate. You , on the other hand, will continue to try to make lemonade, out of your LEMON !!!!
