Cahill Attacks GOP Party Boss

Rich Cahill today ripped in to GOP party boss Jean Jacobs on his blog. In a post on his blog about Anne Marie DiBella he wrote this :

"She [Anne Marie] needs to be beaten in 2009. Hopefully, my party can come with a real candidate this time and not just run Jean Jacobs again. "

It's clear the former Mayoral candidate is saying that Ms. Jacobs is not a real candidate. That's pretty harsh criticism and it's highly unusual for Rich Cahill to attack his party's leader. Which brings validity to the rumors going around that Cahill is looking to challenge Jean Jacobs for the Chairmanship in June.

Rich could do no worse...the repubs in the city should hand the torch to someone else to see if they could do a better job.

Are you saying that she is a real candidate? I don't see the truth as an attack. I think most people would recognize her as being unfit for that position.

It's not about me. I support Anne Marie for the 5th Ward.

I am not seeking the position of Republican Chairman. It was an honor to serve in the position though.

jeremy you are such a hypocrite. You call DiBella - Cruella. You then call for her to be removed from the City Dem Cmte. You then give her high marks for her work and now "I support Anne Marie".

Make up your mind and stick to it.

You must know by now that Richie
is sad that Kirby does not call him every day like he used to.

Now Richie is only Edgar Bergen

I'm not being hypocritical. I did call for her resignation as a committee person when she held a fundraiser for Vincent Bradley. However, I always supported her for Alderman. The bottom line is that she is the most qualified for the job and I agree with her views on most City issues.

If you think Rich tore into the GOP leadership with his comments, it's no wonder you use words like 'attack', 'mean', and 'divisive' when someone challenges your views. There can be no discourse among democrats. One MUST follow the party line, without question.

Hopefully the GOP can come up with a real candidate next time, and not just re-reun Rich Cahill.
And no, alderboy's fly, he is not Edgar Bergen. His father may be Edgar Bergen though. And I must say I am still waiting to see Candace Bergen on their show!

No, What I meant was that a
Alderman who is a Republican is
like Charles McCartney and Young
Master Cahill is calling the shots
due to a lack of insight on the
persons behalf. So it is like a
puppet show on the Council. So in this case Richard Jr. would be Edgar Bergen. You may yet see Ms.
Bergen on the 'Kingston Chronicles'
As I believe Candace once dated Former VP Quayle. If I recall
the Cahill's endorsed Dan in
2000.

I really think it is clever but in the end feel alderboy is "fishing for Quayle" with his theory.

Let Little Dickie run....run run run... Democrats will always control Kingston.

Democrats control Kingston? The Republicans took Kingston handily in the DA's race. The democratic party under that buffoon Parate is its own worst enemy. The GOP will take the County Exec position... watch this knucklehead do it to the dem party again with his lack of leadership.

this is another one of those slow news days for the Republicans in Ulster County, and the City of Kingston. What did little Dick really mean by that? Is she in the same leauge as lets say Mark Phelan, Tony Sinagra,or the revered Tony Crispino? Hell NO! All little Dick did was state the obvius, and that is Jean is a empty dits.

1201: The Republican Party is finished. The Democratic Party will control NY for Centuries to come. You are in Denial. Move to Idaho and burn crosses or whatever. Your ideology is that of a primitive caveman.

jeremy, worry about your own political party and not the GOP. You have enough issues to contend with.

How long will Democrats run the show if they keep offering people like Spitzer?

No party should run a state. There are two sides to every coin. When we forget that and think only of the party, we cut off our nose to spite our face.
